Brittany Schlater competed four times at Canada Powerlifting Nationals 2026, winning the 84kg+ open division in classic & equipped powerlifting and classic & equipped bench only. She’s competed at a lot of high level competitions over the last few years, and now has her eyes set on the Open Classic World Championship in June, with the goal of earning her fourth World Title.

Happy Mother's Day!⁠ ⁠ Melissa Suchoplas won her first Canadian National Powerlifting Championship in 2022, and by the end of 2024 was a mom of 2. Her life obviously changed, but she's learned to carve out time for herself to be able to show up as the best version of herself for her family. In 2026, she returned to the National platform for the first time since having children, achieving a new personal best in the bench press (100kg/220lbs) on her way to finishing 8th in the 69kg open classic division. ⁠ ⁠ Swipe to learn some of her best tips for balancing being both a mom and an athlete.

In a tight battle in the open classic 120kg division at Canada Powerlifting Nationals, Lucas Wiseman had an exemplary day, achieving new National Records in the Squat (375kg), Deadlift (386.5kg) and total (951.5kg) to win his first National Championship at home in front of family and friends. He’s now looking forward to showing what more he’s capable of at IPF Worlds next month.

Steve Cormier secured his spot on the 2026 National Team with his win in the 83kg Masters 1 classic division at Canada Powerlifting Nationals. While his lifts weren't his best numbers due to an injury 3 weeks out, he did what he could do to secure his third National Champion title.

Kwaku Antwi won his 3rd Canadian Powerlifting National Championship this year, winning the 93kg Open Classic division while also winning Best Open Classic Lifter of the event. He set a new National Record in the deadlift (370kg) and total (865kg) while securing his spot on the National team for the World Championships where he hopes to push his numbers further.

After missing 331.5kg on his second squat attempt, Theron Farthing refocused and was able to successfully make his third, achieving a new squat National Record and unofficial World Record in the 93kg Junior Classic division. He went on to bench a new personal best of 182.5kg, and deadlift 302.5kg to secure the win in the 93kg junior division with a 816.5kg total at the Canadian National Powerlifting Championships.
