The romcom-to-magazine pipeline continues…
So excited to be joining @irishcountrymag as Acting Deputy Editor for the next few months ✨ New work email in bio x
Finally got my licence so if you see me on the road, pls let me merge 🥺
When my friend passed her driving test, I gave her a card with €2 taped inside so she could celebrate with a McFlurry from the drive-thru (the height of sophistication at the time). I think we were in Leaving Cert which means that that was 12 years ago… it took me TWELVE YEARS to catch up and get my own licence!!!!
So, so many tears were shed in pursuit of this. I hated being bad at something. I found it incredibly difficult having someone critique my every move (even if it was ultimately to make me a better driver), and if it weren’t for @chris_hanna_design (who has the patience of a saint), I probably would have thrown in the towel because learning to drive is not for the weak!
I wish I got my licence at 18, but truthfully, I don’t think I would have been able for it back then. Anyway, clearly have lots to say so took to Substack. Link in bio x
Whistle stop trip to London - 24 hours is hardly enough but still managed to pack lots in including a visit to see my gal Lil in the @nationalportraitgallery
Proof of life x
Trying (and often failing) to spend less time online but here are some things that have happened so far this year:
1. Turned 30 (we’re not making a big deal out if it) and channelled my inner Dakota Johnson with all my limes

4. Pizza and margaritas? Elite combo
5. Chatting all things Irish festivals
6. The aftermath of the birthday piñata
7. Called in to see Ted and Dougal
8. Ate lots of birthday cake and tiramisu (my idea of a good time)
9. Birthday fleurs all the way from Oz (full credit to @lauradunne1 , none to @liamfinnan )
10. Caught up with the very cool @hayden_cassidy for @sundaytimesireland
11. Matched my new hat to my cardi, was thrilled
12. Double rainbows in between showers
13. More margs because what else is there to do?
14. Tried my first reformer class - have done three more since so yes, @anniekpilates I’m hooked

December peaks (and pits, to keep it real) 🎄 Scroll for a red wine recommendation, my fave Irish sheet mask brand, and the photo project I finally got around to… Does anyone else lose hours of their life scrolling Pinterest for inspo, or is that just me?! Also this song is from The Holdovers which is one of the most gorgeous films to have come out in the last few years and has an equally beautiful soundtrack, mandatory Christmas viewing (it’s on Netflix)
P.S. I’ll be back with another Substack soon xx
(P.P.S. The Poco event was a #prinvite and the Seoulista products were #gifted)
Adult friendships are 90% logistics, 10% vibes - discuss.
Thank you to everyone who read my first Substack piece, who commented, who messaged, who shared their own stories. There’s something oddly comforting about admitting you’re lonely and finding out you’re not alone in it at all.
Essay 2 is about what friendship in your late twenties is actually like. Sometimes you carry the load, sometimes someone carries it for you, and sometimes no one carries it at all – and that’s when things fall apart.

#ad Nearly 30 and finally realising that “winging it” isn’t a health strategy 🥲 If you’d also prefer advice from people who actually know things, In House Health & Fitness have just launched Ireland’s first online fitness marketplace - basically a place to find real professionals instead of whatever the algorithm throws at you. Highly recommend!
