Albariño, Laird Vineyard, 2022
Bright aromatics of wet slate, lemongrass, and in-season peaches. The weight is dense, and the fruit is present. Like prosciutto wrapped melon sprinkled with sea salt. A finish of sappy blossom and nuttiness comes through as the wine reached room temperature.
For those familiar with our wines, you may remember past vintages of rosé having been called “Stipa” in memory of Michel’s grandmother, Rose Stipa. While the names and labels on our wines have changed this year, this particular photo taken on our travels through Italy felt like perfect fit.

Rosé of Pinot Noir, Topotero Vineyard, 2022
Flicking between freshness and umami, this direct-to-press rendition of rosé does not reflect the typical characteristics of Pinot Noir. Instead, notes of white pepper, rose water, and cream are most pronounced. Raw and textural, like canvas. Feels like eating salted watermelon on a hot summer day.
Grenache, Martian Ranch & Vineyard, 2021
Fresh strawberry and cool mint on the nose. A rhubarb loaf laced with fried sage and sprinkled with sea salt. Herbal, crisp, fruity, and mineral. The texture is playful and crunchy.
Pigeons are actually incredibly intelligent, loyal, and resilient creatures. They can recognize and remember different humans, they mate for life, and they can find their way home from over a thousand miles away. There is a story of a famous honing pigeon from WWI that we have always loved. His name was Cher Ami, meaning “dear friend”
in French. Despite serious injuries he delivered a message that saved a lost battalion of 194 soldiers. He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Medal and is currently preserved in the Smithsonian.

Syrah, Ibarra-Young Vineyard, 2021
Invitingly deep, with black currant, purple violets, and caraway. The 50 year old vines provide striking intensity. The texture is bright and peppery, a graceful dance between fruit and structure that would age well for many years to come.
