I’m unbelievably blessed to be surrounded by so much love and support. I truly am so grateful for everyone that I have in my life and from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for the overwhelming amount of kindness and thoughtfulness that I have received. The last few weeks have been the hardest of my life, but I know that God has a plan for me. I’m trusting in the process and letting my faith guide me through this journey. I was given a second chance at life and I know that I will come back stronger and hungrier than ever. I’m going to take this time to become the best version of myself in all aspects. I look forward to being back with my girls, but for now I will be their biggest cheerleader. God is so good and I’m grateful that I will be able to tell my story and spread awareness. It’s always been bigger than soccer❤️

The last month has been nothing short of amazing. My heart is so full. Forever grateful and honored to represent the country on the world stage. It’s truly an experience I will never forget. God is so good. I can’t wait to see what the future holds and where this sport takes me. GO USA❤️🤍💙
One year ago, @savymking ’s heart stopped on the pitch. Thanks to the fast action of Angel City FC medical staff who immediately started CPR, Savy recovered and took the field again to start the 2026 season.
Savy’s experience inspired her to start a heart-health awareness foundation, @SavyKingOfHearts , and to team up with @nwsl and @american_heart to make sure that all the league’s players, coaches and staff members are ready to act to save a life. Today, 15 of the 16 teams have received Hands-Only CPR training, with the last training scheduled this month.
Over half of people who experience a sudden cardiac arrest outside a hospital don’t receive immediate CPR, leading to a 90% fatality rate. Hands-Only CPR can double or triple survival chances. If you see a teen or adult collapse, call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
Thank you to Savy King and the entire NWSL for their commitment to creating a #NationOfLifesavers who are ready and able to act in a cardiac emergency. Together we’re turning a moment into a movement.
I wish I could be writing anything else. Unfortunately, last week at training I suffered a lower leg injury that required another surgery. It’s hard not to feel frustrated and angry, especially when all I want to do is be out there doing what I love. But I know this is part of a bigger plan, even if I don’t fully understand it right now.
This isn’t the first obstacle I’ve faced, and it probably won’t be the last, but every time I’ve been knocked down, I’ve found a way to come back stronger. Right now, it’s about trusting the process, staying patient, and taking things one day at a time. I’m leaning on my faith, my people, and the belief that everything happens for a reason. God’s got me, and I know I’ll be back better than ever. Nothing can ever take away the smile. See you in a few months😉❤️
