Did I mention how crazy she sounds at WOT with the Mines equal length piping? She definitely was dialed in and I can't wait to get her back on the track. To be honest, I think that as a street car with a track day or two a year, her current mods and settings wouldnt really need to do anything else. But, we can't just leave these cars alone... I was flipping thru some GTR magazines tonight and ran into this owner feature.... I have so many questions right now... @gtrmagazine1994 no. 58 published 2004 September. Featured owner Imamura san, with his beloved R33 GTR... Vin BCNR-009025, age 51. It talks about a rotary owner that has owned many rotary vehicles and including many RX7s, but bought a R33 and it changed his perception and fell in love with his GTR. At 80k he took the car to Omori factory and installed the S1 engine menu and how that completely change the car. Some details described such as at the time, the car actually has a Nismo 330F, Advan RA3, Tien RS, Nismo brakes, and Nismo carbon Weldina exhaust... How he might change to xenon's, and he loved keeping the car clean... And he would never sell the car... Why am I interested in this owner and this car? Because he was the first owner of my BCNR33. This is my car, featured at the time with her first owner... But he did indeed sell the car. For the first time, I can dig thru and find bits and pieces of the details of my car, and I can see most the work was done in 2004 and prior. All the paper work lines up. But between them and when @craftsports_jdm sold me the car a few details were changed. Steering wheel was changed to a OEM option woodgrain momo, it was on stock shocks and Mines springs, and rode on R34 OEM wheels. Certainly not as cool as what the owner has. Till this day I can see the etched in calsonic decal on the dashboard, I still have the whale tail air scoop with the little details, except for the Nismo badge. Yes, it's Omori factory build 227. Based on the photos I guess it didn't have a build plaque on the timing cover. The crack on the passenger turn signal is broken in the same exact place up until last year when I changed to the Nismo bumper. It still has its Nismo brake pads up until I changed to the Endless setup... when I got the car, my vin came back as a LP2 midnight purple car.... But why is she black? Thanks to @norcalskylines and @dublin_nissan for a wonderful Sunday meet. It was a bit spotty with the rain, but we didn't get rained out and we got some pretty dramatic shots with the clouds and all. 10 minutes of careful prying on 30 year old plastic to not scratch the housing to remove the old mirror. 1 minute to install. Wicked cool, and this little part is bringing me so much joy, haha. Waiting has definitely paid off. Although it almost seems like it has no business being here, it is too artsy to be in a 30 year old Nissan. Seven years ago this day, I didn't even own my 33 yet! Hanging out with @skylinesyndicateofficial and friends. The Skyline group was much smaller back then in comparison to so many more owners as the 25 year rule gave us more and more models to own each passing year since 2014. I was finally able to make a visit to the @petersenmuseum to see a true JDM legend before she rotates out of display. The Nismo R33 GTR LM road car. I've missed her several times in Japan, and luckily for us, @nissanjapan @nismo_jp_official was kind enough to lend her for display at Petersen Automotive Museum for us here in the States. I made the trip to see this ONE car... Spent an hour with a childhood legend. Major thanks to Steven and Paul for going above and beyond for this nerd... the staff at the museum was willing to open the driver door so I could look at the cockpit without the glare from the glass and lighting! I made sure to respect them and the car and not touch anything! Im still lost for words how close I was able to enjoy her presence. The homologation road car that paved the Skyline GTR for LeMans. Thru this model many things were carried over to the 400R and subsequent Skyline GTRs learned in the heat of battle. She has an assortment of Nismo parts inside and out, but my most surprising finds were that she has a blue face Nismo 320kph cluster, and as hilarious as it is to find, no triple meters; just blanks. A nice buck 365B steering wheel, Nismo floor mats, and an older Nismo leather shift knob, along with the exclusive checkered pattern Recaro SRD with matching rear bench seats. But the interior smells like any of our normal production BCNR33 inside. The body kit is aging, but I'd like to think of it as patina showing thru the fiberglass and carbon fiber bits... And some S13 parts woven into the body work! The rear quarter panels sit on the OEM panels I think as we can see a gap where the radio antenna is. The spoiler is sanded and matched to the trunk as 'one piece' accompanied by the special square setup taillights. The oil pan modified and a series of different changes underneath from suspension and drivetrain that sets her apart from the production model BCNR33 that we could see here clearly now.
