Ever wanted to play a part in helping rescue dogs? Come volunteer with Saving Great Animals at our small rehabilitation house in Renton. We get new dogs in monthly and need shifts filled everyday! You can pick shifts that work for your schedule, whether that’s weeknights or weekends. We are looking for folks who can make a weekly reoccurring commitment or signup for at least 3 shifts to start.
If you’re an approved volunteer or foster with SGA we can get you set up to volunteer at Doug’s in no time :) If you’d like to join the SGA community or know more leave a comment and we’ll get back to you.

Meet Kiki! Kiki may have arrived in foster care in a bit of a rough state, but after a fresh groom and plenty of TLC, this 8-month-old Terrier mix is officially ready for her starring role as your new best friend!
She is the ultimate sidekick whose favorite hobby is following her people from room to room to ensure she doesn’t miss a single beat. Whether you’re working at your desk or relaxing on the couch, Kiki will be right there to nap by your side—or better yet, directly on your lap. She’s a total snuggle expert who adores being held and carried, and she’ll gladly “pay” for every belly rub with a round of sweet kisses.
When it’s time for an adventure, Kiki is ready to hit the trails or head to the park. She absolutely loves her walks, where she can take in all the interesting smells, roll around in the grass, and enthusiastically say hello to every person and pup she passes. Kiki is a genuine social butterfly who has truly blossomed during her foster stay; she’s been a dream housemate for the resident cat and has had a blast on playdates with other dogs. She would thrive in a home with kids to play with or dog siblings to romp around with!
Best of all, Kiki is a total pro in the house and is already completely potty trained! Between her social outings and nap sessions, she is currently enrolled in “Toy 101,” discovering the magic of stuffed animals and having the best time learning how to play. This resilient, happy girl is looking for a forever family who will appreciate her “velcro dog” nature and keep the plushy toys coming. Ellie McMama is ready to fly the coop! Some mama dogs decide they are done mama-ing a bit sooner than others, Ellie being on of the former. Her pups are thriving and starting to look for their forever homes and she is looking for her own foster family!
Ellie loves other dogs and people, but we don’t know about cats.

This itty bitty 🦊 🐶 is Mochachino! We call her Mo for short. She’s a tiny, spunky, sassy and confident girl who will absolutely give you all the snuggles and kisses you want. Then go play with foster sister Raisin and boss around the older dogs in the house. She’s hilarious. And seriously such a good cuddler.
She came on Tuesday from Yakima County with her dad Rex (also will be looking for his forever family!), and made herself at home right away with her foster family. She is getting spayed today then will be available for adoption in the near future.
Mo is six months old and weighs maybe 5 lbs, at the most 😆 She would be fine as an only dog or good in a household with other pups. She likes to play but also happy to do her own thing. Not sure about cats, older kids ok. Working on house training 🏠

Doug’s Place is a volunteer staffed space where we slowly work with a few shut down & fearful dogs to get them ready for their next step in their rescue journey.
