Tucker says:
“It’s my Birthday and I’m 17!” 🎉
Tucker came to us when he was 2.
We can’t believe we’ve been 15 years with Tucker. 🙃
Since his first few moments here at the sanctuary, he has been a force. He is a real character.
He has had many nicknames over the years (some of them even kind 😜) but the one that has stuck with him is:
“Tucker ruins everything”.
If you’re having a quiet conversation with someone- he gets in the middle of it.
If you’re having a nice interaction with one of the residents - again - in the middle.
He quickly learned how to open the doors on the hay barns, so we had to install high up latches, which we call “Tucker latches”. He also, early on, learned how to climb through the 3-rail fencing and spends his days trolling the sanctuary.
The sanctuary wouldn’t be the same without him. 🥰
Happy Birthday, buddy. 💜
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our dear Gus has left his body. 🥺
After our beloved mini donkey Grace left last
November, Gus lost his will to continue. She was his partner, his security.
He came to us after being rescued from the severe brutality of being a practice roping target for rodeos.
He was so fearful of people (especially men). Grace showed him safety and love.
With her and the love and safety he was eventually able to feel from us, became ... better. He was always tentative but once in a while, he was playful. We loved to see that side of him.
But after losing Grace, he was a shell. He disconnected from everyone. We tried but we just couldn’t get him through the loss.
This last weekend, he colicked and despite all efforts, he just did not have the fight to get through it.
But now, he is with his beloved Grace.
Goodbye, for now, most beautiful boy. 💜
We’ll see you and Gracie again!
Look into an animal’s eyes and you’ll see a soul. Each one is an individual, and every one of them deserves love. #animalsanctuary #animalsofinstagram #sanctuary #animalsofinsta #turkeysofinstagram
Arthur appreciation post!! ✨ Arthur is one of Saving Grace’s two angora goats and a proud senior who’s been living his best life at the sanctuary since 2013. He’s a special needs goat with a big personality and an even bigger love for hanging out with his goat brothers.
Arthur was born in a breeding facility and rejected by his mother, and the breeder didn’t want him because he was “the wrong color.” Their loss, because Arthur clearly decided to be extra instead. He’s been fluffy, fabulous, and completely unbothered ever since.
