Project Sepik and The Save the Sepik Campaign are pleased to announce the premiere of the landmark documentary film "Sukundimi Walks Before Me" will be screened at the University of Papua New Guinea's New Lecture Theater on the 24th of April 2026 and at the Moresby Arts Theater on the 26th of April 2026.
They told us development looks like roads, bridges, infrastructure and money. We forget that our ancestors survived on this land for 50,000 years without these.
Development has to happen at our pace and to address our needs. It cannot happen at the cost of our lives.
The Sepik River is not just water.
It is culture.
It is identity.
It is life.
For thousands of years, communities have lived in balance with it.
This is our future.
