CAT LOUNGE CUTENESS š¾
We have already had nearly 120 adoptions just this year at Save the Meow Meows! The lounge has been a game changer in how we conduct rescue and there are so many positives.
If you are looking to adopt a cat-
š± You get the chance to meet over 25 kitties of all different colors, ages, personalities all at once to see if you form a natural connection.
š±Staff know these cats very well so youāll get all the information ahead of time of their quirks, likes, dislikes, and matchmaking magic that isnāt possible at a shelter. š±All our cats are already vetted, which in the hi-desert is a huge benefit since resources are scarce and can be expensive or near impossible to get.
š±We offer trial adoptions as foster -> adopt so if you have other pets at home or just want to ensure it would be the right fit, itās the perfect low risk option.
š±Our staff are available via text anytime after you adopt to answer questions, provide guidance and assist with anything post-adoption. Weāre always here for you!
& if you arenāt looking to adopt the lounge is even better because you get all the cat therapy benefits by hanging out with the kitties and can visit anytime š
MEET FIG š¾ Heās our cat of the week and has quite the journey.
Fig was brought in a trap and labeled feral (which often doesnāt end well for cats in SoCal shelters). But I saw his little cute face and we gave him a chance. He was a little shy at first, but heās not feral at all! In fact, he is one of the most social kitties we have at the lounge and everyone who meets him loves his friendly and sweet demeanor. He was previously unfixed and living on the streets so weāre not sure what his story is, but weāre so excited to be a part of saving his life.
Iām so incredibly proud of this rescue effort for Fig (take a look at that intake photo on the last slide!) Itās the perfect summary of what we do.
- Networkers post āferalā cat at a high-kill shelter
- Save the Meow Meows sees the post
- We go to the shelter and use our pull rights to rescue
- Kitty goes into foster care with our partner @rantanenrescueranch
- We arrange and pay for neuter and medical care at @thepawmission
- Fig goes to the cat lounge to get socialization and meet lots of people
Up next š
- Finding his forever home and living the happiest indoor life being spoiled and loved
Our tiny team at Save the Meow Meows help with the entire rescue lifecycle & our visitors help too! Interacting with these kitties helps them feel comfortable around people and itās a pivotal step - so every time you visit our cat lounge know your part of their rescue journey too!
DEAL OR NO DEAL? Our cats have gathered and decided they are entering small business. They have decided on this as their first trade proposal - do you take it?
ANY LOVE FOR EEYORE? This handsome lilac Siamese boy was rescued from the high-kill Devore shelter about 4 months ago after being put on the euthanasia list for being shy. He now hangs out at the lounge and awaits a kind person to bring him home, weāre hoping he finds his match soon!
His sad boi personality remains, and he mostly just wants to be left alone to contemplate the universe and stare into the 8th dimension. If you are looking for the worlds chilliest cat, this is your GUY.
To meet Eeyore or any of our 25+ cats, simply visit our cat lounge! You can hang out and support what we do, or even find your purrfect match. To see all their profiles online, visit š¾
NEW VILLA NEEDED š If youāve visited our lounge youāll know these are a real cornerstone of our cat acclimation process. We start off new kitties in a villa so they can get used to the scents, sight and sounds of the lounge before joining gen pop. They also serve as safe space for cats to sleep at night, along with so many other important daily uses.
However with Mr. Grey & Mrs. Orange needing to be quarantined with having FeLv/FIV, they are taking up residence in a villa leaving us with one less acclimation space and limiting our intakes.
If you would like to contribute to us being able to purchase a new villa and directly help us save even more meow meows in need simply donate via the following ways-

MONTHLY MEOW MEOW SPONSORS NEEDED š¾
Save the Meow Meows is really special compared to a lot of other shelters and rescues. Our funding to help the most vulnerable cats and kittens ENTIRELY comes from small donations from our little community of animal lovers. Itās actually really beautiful to witness the impact that just a few dollars can make when hundreds of us come together for a cause.
But despite how āØmagical āØthat is, itās also super stressful for us every month not having that large consistent funding source.
So what would be the most impactful is if we know ahead of time each month how much we have to work with- what medical cases we can cover when I have to personally choose who to save from the kill shelters, how many supplies we can order, how many āI just found an abandoned box of kittensā requests we can say yes to.
Every cat we rescue, every life we save, every tiny kitten we bottlefeed (like Kookie here!) it all is thanks to you.
So PLEASE if you know people with money to spare that have kind hearts, encourage them to become a monthly sponsor. What could be a drop in the bucket for someone could mean us being able to save a life.
To help us help them simply click the link in our Instagram bio or visit savethemeowmeows.com to become a monthly sponsor for as little as $5!
HANGINā AT THE CAT LOUNGE š«¶We love getting able to take in new cats to the lounge, it really is a paradise!
We hear a lot of people say they canāt visit because they will just end up adopting all the cats but unlike a shelter where you feel really sad leaving them, our lounge is a happy place where the kitties are SO spoiled. They get yummy treats and playtime all day long, pets, cuddles, brushes, kisses, the works!
If theyāre wanting alone time or a break from people there are lots of hiding spaces for them to decompress. Although itās difficult striking the balance between how many cats are happy in our communal space (and we have some strong personalities that cause mayhem ⦠looking at you Keith) we try and always make sure the cats in our care are happy and healthy in their temporary home.
So if you know someone who hasnāt yet visited, drag them in & Iām sure theyāll leave feeling happier. š„° 95% of our guests arenāt there to adopt, simply to hang out, support our mission and pet cute cats. Thatās what the lounge is for!
But if you do happen to fall in love, all of our kitties (like adorable 5 month old Mabel here) are available for adoption.
FREE NEUTER appointments available for those in unincorporated San Bernardino county. Visit The Paw Mission website to schedule- there are a few cat neuter spots left for tomorrow!
Getting your pet fixed (or even better stray/community cats) is the best way to help the overpopulation crisis. Even just one āwhoopsieā litter can cause a huge amount of strain on the system. In addition, it is the healthiest option for male and female animals as it prevents them from many dangerous illnesses and cancers. One bad day for a lifetime of comfort is worth it.
DOUBLE MLEMS š Like mother like son! These two floofy cutiepies are available for adoption at our cat lounge! Molly is a gorgeous dilute calico and her son is a handsome orange boy - they both have the most magnificently fluffy tails.
Or just come by to the lounge and hang out- anyone just wanting some kitty snuggle time is always welcome to visit and itās the perfect way to donate and support our rescue efforts. We often say itās like cat therapy, a much needed escape from the craziness of life.
Chimmy passed away this morning š„ŗ we did absolutely everything for this baby but she was dealt a bad hand from the start. Chimmy came from the SEAACA shelter in Los Angeles where they receive so many kittens that people just scoop out of their yards, year after year, without much thought or care. The overpopulation crisis contributes to thousands of these deaths each year and the only solution is to spay and neuter every single feral, pet and stray cat. I encourage everyone to spend just a few hours volunteering with a local TNR group.
Chimmy passed peacefully while being cuddled and on sedatives. But so many kittens donāt even get that chance and are suffering. The rest of the fosters are thriving but this is why we do what we do. This is why your donations matter, to give these precious babies the help they so desperately need.
I love you my little Chimmy ė³“ź³ ģ¶ė¤ š¾ Kookie lost his best and only friend so Iām also needing to give even more love to him. Just devastating all around.
