🆘PLEASE SHARE THIS POST 🙌 At 12 years old, Ottis is facing something no senior dog should, losing his home and being separated from the people he loves most. And it’s not even his fault. Sadly, this isn’t his first time needing a new start as he’s been abandoned previously. (1st owner died, given away 2x & currently on his 4th home). Due to family separation, we are trying to support his owners by finding Ottis a temporary foster for about 2 months, giving them time to get back on their feet so he can return home. If a short-term (approximate 2 month) foster cannot be found, his parents will need to begin searching for a permanent placement and were doing our best to support them as we do not have the capability of helping him in traditional ways. Ottis is a gentle senior who thrives on companionship. His day is simple, it’s spent best with his people. He enjoys breakfast, a short walk, and then spends most of his time happily napping or snuggling. He has some anxiety so he takes Prozac twice daily (morning and evening with meals) along with calming treats. He is not crateable and becomes distressed if confined, so a home where he can freely move about is a must. Ottis needs someone who is home all the time, as he does not do well being left alone. If you leave, he’ll need to come with you. He’s the epitome of a Velcro dog. Ottis would make an incredible emotional support companion (ESA Dog) for someone who is home often and able to take him with them on outings; and looking for a loyal, best friend. Good with other dogs, house-trained. He doesn’t require much exercise or entertainment, just a loving presence nearby. Can you open your home to Ottis? Let’s help his golden years be filled with comfort, stability, & love🤍 Frenchies lifespan is typically 10-13 years old; Ottis being around 12 years old, is very healthy despite his age. He is an AKC purebred & vet records are available for review to any prospective home. Owners are welcoming any ideas to keep Ottis with their family. Currently displaced, they need to find pet friendly affordable housing in Baldwin Park, CA area- if you have any rental leads, PLEASE let us know. PLEASE SHARE THIS POST 🙌

Peep, the bunny we recently rescued, has sadly passed away at our veterinarian’s office. In his short time with us, little Peep was met with comfort, care, love, and medical attention. He was safe and surrounded by people trying to give him a chance. We want to take this moment to gently remind everyone that bunnies and rabbits are not Easter presents or temporary pets. They are living, feeling animals who require long-term commitment, including proper nutrition, enrichment, medical care, and daily attention. When considering adding a bunny to your home, please consider adopting from your local Humane Society or rescue rather than purchasing from breeders, especially during the post-Easter influx when many rabbits are surrendered. Peep did not pass in a traumatic way. He was with our veterinary team, receiving care in a calm and safe environment. He was not harmed by a predator or by the cat that originally brought him to us. He found us to help him to his next step, over the rainbow bridge. In Peep’s honor, the supplies we purchased for him (including a 20 lb box of food) will be donated to “Rabbit Rescue” to help care for other bunnies in need. If you’re thinking about adopting a rabbit or bunny, we encourage you to consider: Rabbit Rescue, Inc., 7640 Rosecrans Avenue, Paramount, CA 90723 Rest in peace, little Peep 🐣🤍

We will never understand how anyone could abandon dogs at 13 years, and nearly 15 years old. After a lifetime of loyalty, they deserved comfort and security, not being dumped in a high kill shelter. But they’re safe now. They are officially part of our safety net, where they will be protected, cared for, and loved for the rest of their days. Both Chewy and Missy are in need of long overdue vetting, which we expect will be quite costly. If anyone feels moved to help support their care, we would be incredibly grateful. (Zelle: [email protected]) They have a vet appointment on Monday where they will get anesthetic major dental work, and we’ll share an update once they are safely out of anesthesia. For now, please keep these sweet seniors in your thoughts as they begin this next chapter, one filled with the love they always deserved. 🤍 Thanks to Susanne, one of our amazing prior adopters and a truly dedicated volunteer who stepped up to transport and short term foster. Because of her, BOTH Chewy and Missy are safe today. The moment we asked for help, we were met with an immediate YES! She sprang into action and went to pick them up without hesitation.

SENIORS…. Chewy: 14 years & 9 months old. Missy: 13 years old. How their golden years landed them in the pound is beyond us. This is unacceptable and society must do better. We sent off a pull request this morning to save their lives. Stay tuned!

We never thought our dog rescue would be rescuing the Easter Bunny. But here we are, this teeny tiny approximately 7-week-old rabbit whom was found running loose in the neighborhood, seemingly discarded after the holiday. After being sighted in the morning and impossible to catch, by nighttime a neighborhood cat actually brought this little one home, and thankfully the cat spared its life! The bunny, (now named PEEP 🐰) is now safe in our care. Sadly, this is what the “Easter Bunny” can look like after the holiday. As a dog rescue, this is a first for us. We always have dog supplies on hand… but bunny supplies? Definitely not. In just the first night, we’ve already spent a little over $190 on emergency supplies, with another ~$150 needed for a proper hutch, and we still need to cover spay/neuter, microchipping, wellness care, and any rabbit vaccines or testing recommended which we expect will be in the hundreds. We couldn’t turn this baby away; but we could use community support. If you’d like to help this little Easter rescue get the fresh start they deserve, please donate through our website. We are a registered nonprofit (dog) rescue and your contribution is tax deductible. This is the reality of impulse Easter pets. People may have given up on this bunny, but we won’t. 🐰🤍 🐰Zelle: [email protected] — Zelle gives us 100% of the funds donated. 🐰CASHAPP: $SAVEABOWWOW — CASHAPP gives us 100% of the funds donated. 🐰Venmo: @SAVEABOWWOW (approx. 2% is deducted from your donation by venmo for processing fees) 🐰PAYPAL: [email protected] (approx. 2% is deducted from your donation by PAYPAL for processing fees) 🐰Physical Checks payable to Save A Bow Wow Rescue can be sent to our PO Box 221 La Habra, CA 90633 (we receive 100% of your donation with this option)

THIRD TIME ADOPTERS! We rescued Oscar in 2020, and after the heartbreaking loss of their beloved boy, these wonderful adopters opened their hearts again and adopted Ladybug in December 2025, now lovingly named Penny. Now, in April 2026, they’ve returned once more to add another furry family member, welcoming Cody into their loving home as Penny’s new best friend. We are so grateful for adopters like these who continue to give rescue dogs the love, comfort, and forever homes they deserve. Thank you for choosing rescue again and again… and again for a third time!!
