I thought it would be appropriate to post my review of The Anniversary by Alex Finlay on May 1, also known as May Day. This releases May 12!
This one is a psychological thriller about a serial killer known as the May Day killer, due to their routine of abducting victims on May 1. One thing that’s different about this killer is that they do let some victims go, girls coined as “the lucky ones.” When Jules Delaney is taken by the killer on May 1, 1992, she is one of the few released. However, Jules doesn’t feel very lucky- she endured unspeakable trauma, which she keeps to herself out of fear for the safety of her family. While she tries to find ways to cope and move on, Jules struggles with her past. She can’t help but still be haunted by the May Day Killer- and worry for the safety of her younger sister, Clare, each May 1. Especially since the killer keeps striking each year.
This one is a good read for anyone who likes thrillers, suspense or mysteries! There are dual povs, multiple storylines (and mysteries to be solved), twists, and more! The Anniversary was a 4 star read for me.

we're reading "Autism in Heels" by @jennifercook_author together right now as part of World Autism Month (also known as Autism Acceptance/Awareness Month) 💙
back when it first debuted, i watched @loveonthespectrumnetflix Australia and U.S. and was first starting to understand the parallels between the folx on those shows and myself. recently, season 4 debuted and around then, savannah started watching the U.S. show for the first time! she saw Jennifer on the show, then surprised me with matching copies of this book and said she wanted to read it together!! 🥰
i'm so appreciative that we are learning more about each other and that she's making such an effort to get to know my identities and experiences; we are growing together as besties and we recently started the Australia version of the show together! it's awesome for me seeing these episodes again and reflecting on how far i have come since the first couple times i watched. more @savyandzuko buddy-reads and adventures to come as pride approaches 🌈

#currentlyreading Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashino! This one is an interesting, unique and darkly funny suspense novel about a woman willing to do pretty much anything to get her dream home. Stalking and trespassing are not off limits, and the stakes just keep getting higher. The writing style is keeping me hooked and I just have to keep reading to see what Margo does next.
