This week, my boyfriend ( @saudade_effect ) and I took a couple of days to stating cleaning/finishing my mentors studio. This year marks 15 years of learning from him! This place wasn’t existing yet! While it was hard work, it was nice to take things off the shelf, clean them and reminisce of times that were had. There is more to this place and I hope to tackle the darkroom and hallway next. Anyone know where I can get a darkroom sink?

My beautiful boy,
I finally understand why God gave us the gift of animals. They provide
a unique companionship, a friendship unlike any other, that fills a
certain void in our lives. They help us see beyond ourselves and truly
grasp the meaning of compassion and love. In their innocence, we catch
a glimpse of something pure and beautiful that helps us rid ourselves
of foolish and selfish emptiness.
My beautiful boy, you inspired a new wave of imagination in me. I'd
imagine new things, places, and scenarios. For example, I'd imagine
you were the guardian of the universe and held it safely in your
heart. Since I was your guardian, that meant I was the guardian of the
universe, too. This showed me that you were important, and I was
important.
You helped me let go of my selfish and foolish emptiness. You helped
me understand the meaning of perpetual silence and distance—a gift
only you could provide. I became a more compassionate person because
of you. I became a better person.
And although you've left me with an ache in my heart, I can smile at
the thought that you now exist somewhere in the universe, playing your
piano... and waiting.... Waiting for me to arrive.
