We’re so excited for the change, bittersweet as it is, and can’t wait to move forward into this new chapter!

Good morning! We’ve got news and a decision that has been weighing on me for months. We’ll be moving back to a Friday and Saturday model with the addition of lots of classes during the week. We might break a few hearts but it’s better than having to close our doors.
I love Tomball and I love being a part of this community. We will be leaning cake and cookie heavy and phasing out a few things that don’t serve that model. If you think this decision was made lightly, I can assure you that it wasn’t. This shop is my baby. I built it cookie by cookie and cake slice by cake slice. I care deeply about every single part of it and it’s been very hard to try so hard, for so long, and feel like I’m just treading water.
To be totally honest, I made the mistake of listening to people who don’t have a bakery try and dictate how I should run my business. I don’t think that I’m the only one in the world that succumbs to peer pressure (especially when you’re so invested) but I’ve been struggling to make something happen ever since with very few positive results. Numbers don’t lie. Burnout is real. And I want to be a special cake shop in this wonderful town for a very long time.
We’ve been told that we should leave Main Street and that our model is bad for the community. I don’t think that anyone that actually visits us would feel that way…but I can’t control what people think or say. I do care and I’ve spent the last five years trying to build something that will last.
The world keeps changing, the economy is what it is, our sidewalks are terrible and we’re still here.
The website will get a refresh with easier preorder options, we’ll be offering delivery, date nights on Friday and maybe even a few local markets. All fun things, all things that I feel move us just a hair closer to bigger and better things.
We really, really love you guys and maybe one day when we do a big huge buildout and are open 7 days a week and offer delivery and classes and 10,000 cookies a day we’ll all look back and laugh about this 😁

We’ve been doing a little studio refresh and a bit of shop maintenance the last few days and I’m loving all the changes.
The last few months (year?) have been hard behind the scenes. Really hard. Owning a business comes with so many unexpected, unpredictable and expensive setbacks that it’s hard to see the forest through the trees. For better or worse, I am very stubborn and so absolutely committed to making this place all that it can be. A little freshening up is just what the doctor ordered and I’m feeling much more motivated and ready to conquer the world (or at least survive May 🤪).
Mother’s Day always arrives just when I need it the most. It’s always the best day getting loved on by my sweeties and celebrating all the wonderful Mom’s in my life.
Hope you’ll stop in this weekend for some treats to make breakfast in bed extra special this year. 🩷
And we WILL have sandwiches but I can’t decide what we should do! Any suggestions?!
We had a little belated anniversary night in the city and it was so fun to stop in a few places that I’ve been wanting to go to for ages. @coltivarehtx was beyond delicious and we felt so spoiled by the staff. @ezsliquorlounge is exactly what I love about a bar and can’t wait to go back. @bltomorrow was so fun and I can’t wait to try more options from the menu one day. All around 10/10 night to celebrate another year with @guilbeaubs 🩷
Check out the amazing work that Tomball High students are doing to improve sidewalk safety and connectivity in Tomball! It’s so amazing to learn about the work they are doing to bring about meaningful and positive change in our hometown. Great work @tomballstride !
Pizza week was such a success! 🍕 The absolute best time spent with new friends and old friends, laughing, learning and chatting about everything under the sun. I knew the classes would be fun but I can’t thank everyone enough for bringing such a great energy to every class. 10/10, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 💯. Thank you, thank you!
It’s Alex’s birthday! She is the best woman in the world and the heartbeat of this shop. I’m so lucky that I get to spend almost every waking moment with her whether she likes it or not. I can’t even begin to put into words what she means to us. Happiest birthday to the best of the best! We love you!!!!
Pizza focaccia classes are on the website! Next Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8pm! Be expecting pizza, salad, wine, cookies, general merriment and lots of learning. Basically all my favorite things ❤️ See you there!
