exactly one year ago, I traveled alone to egypt to fulfill my mother’s dream: seeing the pyramids of giza. it was a trip I had been dreaming about for a long time. on mother’s day, I was standing right there, at the foot of the pyramids. no noise, no tourists... a moment I will never forget.
that same day, I wanted to visit the saint simon monastery. i quickly understood why no uber wanted to go there. to reach it, you have to drive through « garbage city, » a place where nearly a million people live. they sort the city’s trash in an unbearable smell, and you can feel a heavy sense of resignation in the air.
i had to go through this difficult reality to finally see the beauty of the church carved into the mountain at the very top. this shock reminded me of my own life. for years, i wrote and played music only for her, in secret. it was my way of holding onto her memory, like I didn’t want to let her go. today, it’s time to share these songs. …………………………………………………………………………………….Il y a tout juste un an je partais seule en egypte réaliser le rêve de ma mère: voir les pyramides de gizeh. un voyage presque initiatique que j’avais en tête depuis longtemps. le jour de la fête des mères je me retrouvais au pied des pyramides sans bruit ni touriste, un moment à jamais gravé dans ma mémoire.
j’ai ensuite voulu visiter le monastère de saint simon le tanneur. j’ai vite compris pourquoi aucun uber ne voulait m’y emmener: il fallait traverser la cité des chiffonniers, un bidonville où vivent près d’un million de chrétiens coptes. ils trient les déchets de la ville dans une odeur intenable et une atmosphère de résignation qui vous prend à la gorge.
il fallait passer par cette réalité difficile pour que surgisse enfin tout en haut la beauté de l’église sculptée dans la roche. ce choc a fait écho à ma propre vie. pendant des années j’ai écris et joué des morceaux pour elle seule, dans le secret. c’était ma façon de retenir son souvenir, comme si je ne voulais pas la laisser partir. aujourd’hui il est temps de dévoiler ces chansons.
je me rappelle en 2018 « bisous » de @mythsyzer sortait à peu près en même temps que je me double fracturais le pied en skate et je passais l’été à écouter ce projet. fin 2025 on se rencontre et en 2026 je coproduis avec lui « toujours un peu froid» et m’invite en featuring! merci le big @mythsyzer pour ça et tout ça pour dire que « amuse bouche » is out 💋💋 c’est un beau projet dont miss out !!!
I remember back in 2018, “bisou” by myth syzer came out around the same time I double-fractured my foot skateboarding, and spent the whole summer listening to that project. fast forward to 2025, we meet… and in 2026 i co-produce “toujours un peu froid” with him and got invited as a featured artist!! big thanks to @mythsyzer for this
