We’ve had so many guests with Greek background try SASSI’s Mastic Ice Cream and instantly light up.
Immediately they’re talking about Greece, childhood summers and grandparents who grew up on the island of Chios, where the mastic trees have been part of life for generations.

Flavours that are introduced to us at birth and we’ve done the same to our kids too through ritual called “Tahneek” - smearing date on the upper palate of the newborns mouth for blessing and more!.

When I was growing up, the date palm tree was a symbol of life, generosity, and belonging. Something we grew up loving, respecting, and feeling deeply connected to.
I still remember the farmer coming to our home, carefully pollinating the trees with so much care and intention… almost as if he was asking the tree to bless our home with its abundance and sweetest dates.
