Before you jazz off from Tokyo, don’t miss the breathtaking Sakura season, which peaks in late March to early April. The streets are lined with delicate pink blossoms, creating a stunning spectacle that captures the essence of spring in Japan. Sidewalks are “pinkified,” like carpets of petals, with locals and tourists alike strolling through, often dressed in yukatas and kimonos that perfectly complement the vibrant pink hues surrounding them.
東京から慌ただしく出発する前に、3月下旬から4月上旬にかけて見頃を迎える、息を呑むほど美しい桜の季節をお見逃しなく。通りには繊細な薄紅色の花が咲き乱れ、日本の春の真髄をとらえた見事な光景が広がります。歩道は花びらの絨毯のように「ピンク色」に染まり、地元の人も観光客も、周囲の鮮やかなピンク色にぴったり合う浴衣や着物を着て散歩します。

6th day of your stay in Tokyo, visit Yasukuni Shrine, where you can also feed koi fish at the peaceful Secret Pond Garden. It is important to have the spirit of a koi in one’s self, a symbol of perseverance in Japanese culture. Feeding koi fish in the serene garden offers a rare moment of calm amidst Tokyo’s usual hustle and bustle.
東京滞在6日目は、靖国神社を訪れてはいかがでしょう。ひっそりと静かに佇む神池庭園で鯉に餌をあげることもできます。日本文化では、忍耐の象徴でもある鯉のような精神を自分の中に持つことが重要です。植物に囲まれた静かな庭園で鯉に餌をあげていると、東京の喧騒の中で、信じられないほど穏やかなひとときを過ごすことができるでしょう。

On the fifth day, one may feel the need for a much-needed break from constantly folding oneself through the bustling streets of Tokyo—absorbing endless lights, tastes, and experiences. A brief respite could come in the form of origami, folding paper into intricate shapes as a way to creatively “unfold” oneself.
5 日目には、東京の賑やかな通りを際限なく歩き回り、煌びやかな無限の光、体験したことのない味覚、忘れがたい経験を吸収し続けることからの休息が切実に必要だと感じるかもしれません。「折り紙」の形で束の間の休憩をとることもできます。紙を複雑な形に折ることによって、クリエイティブな自分自身の感性を折り紙を開くように「解放」することができるでしょう。

On your fourth day—and beyond in Tokyo—you’ll encounter food served on vibrant, carefully curated dishes, as presentation is just as important as taste in Japanese culture. If you have time, hop on a fast train to Okawachiyama Village in Imari, famed for its traditional pottery. There, you can explore Japan’s ceramic craftsmanship, still rooted in age-old techniques. With only three days left, though, you can also check out Tokyo’s colorful Kichijoji neighborhood, where small ceramic shops offer unique dishes at affordable prices.
4 日目、そしてもちろんそれ以降も、東京ではいくつもの鮮やかで丁寧に調理され、美しく盛りつけられた料理に出会えます。日本の文化では、見た目も味と同じくらい重要です。時間があれば、遠方まで足を伸ばして、例えば伝統的な陶器で有名な伊万里の大川内山村へ行きましょう。そこでは、昔ながらの技法に今も根ざした日本の陶芸の職人技をまのあたりできます。残りは3日しかないので、東京のカラフルな吉祥寺地区を訪れるのもいいでしょう。小さな陶器店が手頃な価格でユニークな食器を提供しています。

On your third day, treat yourself to kaiten-zushi at one of Tokyo’s renowned sushi spots. Beyond the classics like maguro and tako, don’t miss unique delicacies such as himi kanburi, nodoguro, and uni—must-try bites for any sushi enthusiast. While sushi is certainly a highlight, Tokyo’s vibrant culinary scene offers countless other flavors and experiences. But, I’ll leave the rest of your gastronomic journey for the remaining four days!
3 日目は、“回転寿司”言わずと知れた日本の革新的な寿司レストランで自分にご褒美を与えましょう。マグロやタコなどの定番のネタ以外にも、氷見寒ブリ、のどぐろ、ウニなどの特別な季節ごとの味覚を試すのをお忘れなく。寿司好きの方にはたまらない一品です。寿司は間違いなくハイライトですが、東京の活気ある料理シーンには、数え切れないほどの味と体験があります。しかし、残りの美食の旅は、残りの 4 日間に残しておきましょう。

On your second day—and really, every day and night in Tokyo—you’ll find yourself surrounded by a sprawling concrete jungle, with towering buildings at every turn. The city’s skyline is an ever-evolving mosaic of architectural marvels, where each street and every view feels like a maze of structures, one rising after another.
2 日目、実際のところ東京は毎日、夜も昼も、あらゆる場所にそびえ立つビルが立ち並ぶ、コンクリートのジャングルに囲まれていることに気づくでしょう。街のスカイラインは、常に進化する建築のモザイクのようで、あらゆる通りとすべての景色は、次から次へと建造物がそびえ立つ迷路のように感じられます。

Upon landing in Japan, preferably end of March or early April, the fastest way to reach Tokyo from the airport is by train—swift, clean, and consistently punctual. Thanks to the city’s efficient and reliable transit system, you can easily plan your evening, often just a few hours after arrival.
日本に到着したら、理想的には 3 月末か 4 月初旬に、空港から東京まで行く最速の方法は電車です。日本の電車は速くて清潔で、いつも概ね時間どおりです。効率的で信頼性の高い交通システムのおかげで、夜の予定を、到着のほんの数時間後のものであっても、簡単に立てることができます。
