Honoured to be selected as a shortlisted artist in the Bristol-based Royal Photographic Society's annual International Photography Exhibition 167. Thrilled to be selected by @ephemere.tokyo as one of the artists included in the Color of Noise exhibition opening next week in Kyoto at the international photography fair, KYOTOGRAPHIE 2026. Also very excited to learn that my work will be featured in the Color of Noise photobook to be launched at the KYOTOGRAPHIE PHOTOBOOK FAIR, @kg_photobookfair 9-10 May. Thanks so much to @anne.murayama and the Ephemere team for this wonderful opportunity! The Color of Noise was curated by @ephemere.tokyo with the theme of this yearโs festival, Edge in mind. KYOTOGRAPHIE 2026 explores the edge as a site of both tension and transition.

A few from the archives. Falls Festival, Lorne, New Yearโs Eve, 2009. Thereโs something powerful and timeless about the rituals of humans coming together in their thousands in celebration, especially around music. Being in the thick of a festival that heaves and swells to the rhythm is one of the most extraordinary experiences to be had, especially to herald in the new year โ marking another orbit around the sun together. While weโve been doing this for millenia, capturing this bush festival on camera in 2009 had particular resonance, looking back. As you might notice, thereโs not a smartphone in sight. A chapter of our collective history unlikely to be repeated.

Lovely to be included in the 2025 Canberra Contemporary @platform_canberracontemporary members exhibition amongst so many talented artists from across the ACT and surrounding regions. It was a particularly nice surprise to have my work, โLaunchโ, a cameraless analogue image, created as a 2024 Dark Matter resident @photoaccess_inc , recognised. โLaunchโ was awarded third place by judge Serena Bentley, Senior Curator at the National Portrait Gallery. Thanks to @eckersleys for a very welcome voucher, and congratulations to the other award recipients! The exhibition is open today (Saturday 15 November) from 11-5 at the Platform Gallery space, 19 Furneaux St Forrest (Manuka).

So honoured to be announced as the recipient of the 2025 Canberra Museum & Gallery Photography Award on Saturday night by @capocanberra@belcoarts . My award grant will contribute to the creation and publication of a limited edition photobook, 'Dark Energy', from experimental silver gelatin prints inspired by Canberra's Mt Stromlo and the celestial, created as a 2024 Dark Matter artist in residence @photoaccess_inc . Thank you so much to @canberramuseumandgallery for this award. The photobook is an important and exciting contemporary artform, and I am super excited to have the opportunity and support to bring this new work to fruition.

Last week I had the honour of delivering a presentation on this image in Athens @houseoflucieathens at the @ipawards International Photography Awards (Lucie Foundation). I created this photogram, inspired by Canberra's Mt Stromlo and our connection with the celestial, as a Dark Matter artist-in-residence @photoaccess_inc . Thank you so much to the IPA and House of Lucie hosts. This was a wonderful opportunity to participate in a program of professional
talks, portfolio and peer reviews, and to meet other artists/photographers, judges, curators and @luciefoundation staff in a location as amazing as Athens.
This year I have donated a print of this image to the Canberra Capital Arts Patrons' Organisation @capocanberra for its annual fundraising auction. Proceeds from the auction support local ACT artists through CAPO's grants program. I look forward to being there on the night for the gala auction, held this year at the Belconnen Arts Centre on Saturday 18 October. A gorgeous sunny winter's day out at Lanyon @acthistoricplaces today for the opening of the Lanyon Art Prize! Super excited to be a finalist in this prize with my โHelmetโ diptych. So many beautiful contemporary artworks on display on site at the homestead and around this very special historic property.
"This photographic collage is inspired by Sidney Nolan's Kelly works. I am fascinated by the way Nolan uses the helmet as metaphor, playing with ideas such as protection, entrapment, freedom and alienation. Nolan, who had profound insight into the human condition and the dualities of existence, had a strong sense of connection with Lanyon. Through the prism of the Kelly series, I wanted to explore the psychological space of the landscape at Lanyon, but also of the homestead itself, and the experiences of the people who may have inhabited this space through time."
