I have many resolutions for this new year, but they all fall under one all-encompassing theme: stop living in fear. Fear sounds like such a dramatic and serious word, but many of us live in “fear” everyday. Fear of being rejected. Fear of being alone. Fear of never being happy. Fear of never being successful. Fear of never being enough. Fear of always being too much.
In 2025, I lived in fear of everything I can’t control.
In 2026, I will be taking control of my own destiny. I will no longer allow the negative people and elements of this world to hold power over me.
In 2026, I will be saying “no” to fear and, instead, “yes” to joy. “Yes” to all of the beautiful things on this earth. “Yes” to life. “Yes” to love. “Yes” to me and who I choose to be. ❤️
Today, I passed (with flying colors) my Masters of Arts Oral Comprehensive Examination as the final major step in my masters program here at ODU! I am feeling so very thankful and humbly blessed by the incredible experience that I have had in this program as both a scholar and an educator! I couldn’t have done it without these three incredible women who sat on my committee today and who have been a beacon of light and inspiration throughout this journey. ❤️
Couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend Sis’ birthday than with you, sweet Em! #cousintime❤️
Happy Birthday, @olivia_noblin 🦋 I love and miss you more and more everyday. Time really doesn’t heal all wounds. 💞
