I had zero time to work on this audition. Wasn’t even fully off book. Was exhausted, stressed, and frustrated and did it just to get it done on time, without doing any “actor motivation” or character work. Ran it twice, sent the second take, which was a little warmer than a cold read, and it booked!
This has since become one of my more favorite tapes as it’s a great multi layered scene to introduce this character who was described as: flawed, hardened by past mistakes, deeply regretful, and seeking redemption.
But sadly this scene was cut from the final film and now my character’s first scene and introduction is the one above instead…
