Working in music is a constant push and pull.. unreal highs, brutal lows. Standing there watching the show, it hit me how many different artists I’ve worked with, how many insane moments just in the past year alone. It was beautiful! And somehow, it was heartbreaking too.
When you work on the creative side, when you’re close to an artist’s vision, everything feels risky. You’re putting your taste, your instincts, your opinions into the world and hoping they land. And in fact, it doesn't land often times. It’s not always fun. And it’s never easy. But it’s always music!
I saw so many people I work with- people who have that same dynamic with incredibly talented artists. People who pour their heart and soul into someone else’s vision. They’re not walking the red carpet. They’re not on TV. Sometimes they’re not even seen by their own families for how much they give to this work.
I’ve been making music my whole life. Every thought I have somehow loops back to it. the next song, the next video, how an image feels, how a lyric lands, how a moment resonates. The industry moves so fast that it’s hard to ever stop and ask who’s actually receiving this work? Who’s listening? Who’s watching?
These moments are always bittersweet. Someone’s always winning. Someone’s always losing - a Grammy, a chart spot, or just a seat at the table on a project.
I’m grateful for everyone around me at
@atlanticrecords ..the artists, the managers, the teams. Every project carries lessons, victories, and losses. It’s all part of the same thing we’re making together.
One big sound, Om, The Universe, The Music
