Happy birthday Dr V
Nearly a year has passed, Vikram…
and yet, not a single day has truly moved on without you.
Today is your birthday, and instead of celebration, there’s a quiet ache, the kind that never really leaves, only learns to sit beside us. You were never just my brother… you were my other half, the soul of Namma Music, the one who understood without words, who heard what others couldn’t.
Everything we built, every note, every silence in between carries you in it. Your presence still lingers in the music, in the studio, in the spaces only we knew. Sometimes it feels like you’ve just stepped out for a moment… and I’m still waiting for you to walk back in.
You are deeply missed ,not just for what you did, but for who you were. Your brilliance, your heart, your quiet strength… irreplaceable.
Happy Birthday, my brother.
Wherever you are, I hope the music is endless.
Until we meet again… you remain forever a part of me, and forever the heartbeat of Namma Music.
Revered percussionists B. C. Manjunath and Rajasekhar Bhimachar bring a profound rhythmic depth to Namma Classical Vol. 9. Manjunath, celebrated for his mastery of the mridangam and the intricate art of konnakol, is known for seamlessly bridging classical tradition with contemporary expression, creating rhythm that is both intellectually rich and deeply evocative.
Complementing him, Rajasekhar Bhimachar’s nuanced and sensitive morsing elevates the musical dialogue, anchoring the performance with grace, precision, and an innate understanding of the Carnatic idiom. Together, they form a powerful rhythmic foundation for the brilliance of Ambi Subramaniam, enhancing every phrase with energy and subtlety.
Namma Classical Vol. 9 releases on April 17th, bringing together these exceptional artists in a celebration of tradition, virtuosity, and musical energy.
The silent Architect
Vikram Ghatpande’s presence lives quietly yet powerfully through this release. As his final work as a recording engineer, Namma Classical 9 stands as a testament to his rare sensitivity, precision, and deep musical understanding.
Working alongside maestros like Ambi Subramaniam, B. C. Manjunath, and Rajashekar Bhimachar, Vikram brought an unmistakable clarity and soul to every note captured. He had the gift of not just recording sound, but preserving emotion—allowing music to breathe, to speak, and to endure.
As Namma Music’s 53rd release, this album carries more than just artistic excellence—it carries memory, legacy, and love. Vikram’s brilliance was never loud, but always profound. And in this final work, it resonates forever.
Let’s celebrate Vikram’s Birthday with the release of this album on the 17th April.
He will be deeply missed, and always remembered.
