F I N A L L Y….Today We got an Egg! On 23rd Feb we collected 3 chickens at “Point of Lay”….They settled beautifully, ate through almost two bags of the best Free-range grain, scratched around the garden and went to bed. Fat Mary the Sussex, decided to moult & turned the hen house into a cloud of white feathers. The twin Hy-line browns, supposedly career girls, tried to do the same but didn’t loose a feather. They just got fat and made futile attempts to out-rank Mary. ( as if… )With the turn of seasons, obviously Mary thought “Nup” and went on eggstrike. The silly ladies followed suit. It ends today. Hopefully three eggs tomorrow! #cackleberries #sussexhen

New (well, since 23rd Feb) ladies on the block. So far NO eggs… useless bimbos. Next time I’ll ask for an egg-a-day warranty! Damn you, Mr Fox, my last girls were such rippers & you stole them in broad daylight. #eggless #nocackleberries
