Smudge Pencil is a Geometry Nodes setup that lets you smudge with procedural controls for brush style, effects, and more — all adjustable after smudging!
‼️ Note: Smudge Pencil works on geometry objects only. To smudge Grease Pencil lines, convert them into meshes (e.g.,using the free Brushstroke Tools).
ℹ️ Under the hood: Smudge Pencil combines Blender Studio's Brushstroke Tools and a modified refraction shader from @dillongoo 's Mesh Trails Add-on. The shader was tweaked to work in camera view and follow stroke direction. I streamlined the Brushstroke Tools for smudging and added features to prevent overlapping strokes, which would break the refraction rendering.

Digital stratacut has gone viral, and I'm happy I could give my 1st workshop with it at the @karekarefestival in Ankara :)
The 2nd edition of Kare Kare International Animation Festival in Ankara was a blast! I was there to give the workshop and to present what and how I've made. Kare Kare ("Frame by Frame" in Turkish, a fantastic title for a festival, btw) is a small but mighty festival. It is not easy to run a festival in Turkey where the focus is on the artistic and inventive side of animation. So I'm pleased that the Estonian Embassy and French Institute are chipping in to keep it running. Long live Kare Kare and its team. Thank you for having me 🥰
