Bringing @thecircusstartsatmidnight to Cabrillo High School to play a specially curated and electrified sideshow set as part of their big fundraising event for CIMF (Cabrillo Instrumental Music Foundation). I can’t wait to share with you all what my band has been cooking up for our big show on Friday, October 25 at @thewickedshamrock . It’s free to attend but you must be 21 or over. Costumes are encouraged and so are your dancing shoes. Music will start at 9pm with a set from the phenomenal @duncanandthedragonslayers , and then @thecircusstartsatmidnight will play for the rest of the evening.

Thank you all for taking the time to listen to “Wishing Fish”, the recently remastered tune from my band @thecircusstartsatmidnight . The cover art was created by @coryellchavez who once again completely knocked it outta the park! He also went above & beyond with the promo pieces going so far as to mock up faux beverages with the song’s artwork printed on as the label, even designing the font from scratch. The resulting harmony between music & artwork puts a big smile on my face.
I’m very proud of this song. I recorded it back in 2016, & in the “Do It Yourself!” tradition of my band I engineered and mixed it all on my own, without the use of computers or even a click track. I performed all of the vocals & instruments on it, except for the lead guitar break which was improvised by Kyle Reilly (he played something different each take, & I believe it was on the third try where he struck gold).

Playing two shows this Saturday night. First I’ll be drumming at @eye_on_i_84 with my buddies Tom, Jeightee, & Nathan, where we’ll be playing an assortment of Tom Brown originals and some carefully curated covers. It’ll be a fun time in the firelight!
After that, I’ll be grabbing a guitar and fuzz pedal and cruising over to @thewickedshamrock where my sister, Anna, and I will be reforming our old bluesy garage-rock duo Two Wimps in Wigs and playing a set to kick off a rad lineup of music featuring @angienightmare & @duncanandthedragonslayers .
I also put together both of these posters, and although it’s been years since I’ve done this kind of work, I am pretty happy with how they turned out.
