Well, we didn’t win, but it was still a huge honor and hugely fun to get to go hang at the Grammys again this year and see a bunch of friends, most of which I didn’t take any pictures of or with.
I also got to see and/or hear a bunch of my favorite bass players, most of which I also didn’t take any pictures of or with.
That one blurry zoomed in picture does have Pino, Marcus Miller, AND Adam Blackstone, though.
Lots of love to Nicole, Dan, Idan, Keyon, and Rachel, you’re the best.
Disappointed to not get any Grammy-branded potato chips this year, but maybe next year.

I’m coming to you on Thursday to play at the @gilmorefestival with @nicolezmusic Quartet (with @idanmorim and @danpugach )!
We play May 7 at noon at the Civic Theater in kzoo and May 8 at 7:30pm at the Kool Center in Battle Creek.
It’s a huge honor to play this festival where I’ve heard so many of my heroes, and I’d love to see some familiar faces. I think there are still tickets for both shows.
Let it be known that I have never actually played this song in real life, this is the only part that I know, and we’re not going to play it at either of these shows.

Live at Vic’s Las Vegas is up for Best Jazz Performance (for the track All Stars Lead to You) AND Best Jazz Vocal Album, and Schubert Beatles is up for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album.

It’s always a joy to play with Nicole, Dan, and Idan, but it was an extra honor to get to make some music with Tom Scott, Keyon Harrold, and Rachel Eckroth, all of which I have been a fan of for a long time.
It was also an honor to play the Robles (I think) bass which lives at Vic’s. Thanks to the Lowdens for trusting me with it.
May we all find the courage to become what!

You can hear my 1958 Kay, my Tokai Hard-Puncher, and even my literal physical voice in there. I took approximately 3 pictures in the studio and here they are.
