New interview out with @swarmmag as part of their Future Forecasting series...I spoke with editor @__maarketa__ about VR, the idiocy and hype in a lot of metaverse art discourse and a bunch of other stuff....They also have lots of interviews with some other interesting artists as part of the series so worth checking out!

Opening tonight in Barcelona! The last few months I've been slogging away at some new work and virtual environments as part of MUSH - a new work with @most_dismal_swamp showing at @mirafestival . As well as creating the virtual environment I've got some physical works in the videos that were included in my Exudater solo show last year....more install documentation coming soon!
Loads more artists involved in the project but check the MDS posts for all the info!
The last few weeks Ive been working on several virtual production live streams with @gossamerfog , with the last one Oblique Field [Cataract Requiem] which I've also curated broadcasting live tomorrow on Twitch (twitch.tv/gossamerfog) at 8pm UK time...please join us!

Blink too quickly and you may not realise we operated at a significantly different level of perception than you might be used to. You were suspended in a world where you never really understood who was affected until we sliced open that membrane, releasing all of that pressure. But the politics involved in our existence are mutating at an ever increasing rate, so let's just take a break and allow for some time for breathing. The simulation of society, defined by roles and pretense became a cult for the transmission of certain fictional realities. So really, the history of this place, of all of its systems and infrastructure, existed to keep us in place until we built the vehicle needed to transport the future from the past. Our synthesised and programmable bodies amalgamated to become collective identities transmissible in only the rarest of situations….So please, now is the time we break out of this skin.
I've got an interview and feature up on @tzvetnik at the moment about my recent solo show Exudater at @seagergallery . Thanks to Dane Sutherland of @most_dismal_swamp fame for taking the time for such an indepth talk about the research and ideas behind it.
I just started a residency with @diane._.edwards at #Piksel20 / @pikselfest in Bergen, Norway as part of QUARANTINE10: an intensive 10 day quarantine period prior to Piksel Festival where we will be developing a new project: 𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙡. This project will develop as an amalgamated virtual world and poetic script influenced by information gathered from local people and online audiences. For more info see 𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙞𝙣 𝙗𝙞𝙤.

We invite you to collaborate with us and share stories, descriptors and audio recordings - via webform or email which depict outside wild spaces, objects, lifeforms, landscapes, events, weird and wonderful encounters and experiences with the natural world. These stories should not name the place or object, but rather give a more visual, textural, material, and emotional description. The work will mutate and grow as a form of mediated translation of these shared fragments, enmeshing non-linear narratives and descriptors to arrive at a traversable virtual imaginary of a space we are unable to access and experience.

Contribute to the project via webform here: https://bit.ly/openWorldFirewall
Or email your stories, descriptors, audio files to: [email protected]

Open World Firewall will both respond to and utilise the hyperspeed reality of digital communication where information is shared, reposted, collaged, cut, rearranged through lossy and leaky processes that create fissures in which new semi-fictitious narratives seep through. Through our own transformation and interpretation of the data fed to us from external public collaborators we will create a new virtual space, a distorted mirror image of a world we cannot see.

At the end of the quarantine period the project will be finalised and packaged so that Piksel Festival visitors and online audiences can download and explore the world in a more conventional WSAD controlled computer game.
Last day to see my solo show Exudater, I think there maybe the potential for some by appointment viewings tomorrow or Monday so get in contact if you can't make it today! Video and images are from my VR installation Organs without Bodies.
Exudater is on until the 25th! Just gonna dump a paragraph of the exhibition text I wrote here, full text is available on seagergallery.com:
The botanical phonomena of rhizodeposition releases organic compounds through roots into the surrounding soil biome, this mucilage enriches the microflora of a soil, developing it into a complex and immeasurable mix of compounds. The deposition of the Deleuzian rhizomatic is already leaking through, swelling the surrounding branches and sub-branches of fragmented postmodern culture until the tributaries begin to fold in upon themselves and coagulate through an overabundance of information. This exudata manifests as an informatic sludge that secretes from every cybernetic system into a new cultural quagmire. It is liquid and free flowing, kin to the more natural exudate; a compound that is released by roots or blood vessels, a claggy cellular material that responds to infection and clogs up a surrounding area. These veinal networks form a conceptual entanglement in which this new colloidal culture is a blurred and opaque interconnectedness afforded by new technologies and new intelligences. There is no pathfinder for these new tracks, no map to navigate. You are both inside and out, intertwined in a multiscalar polymeric structure and unable to grasp any subjective definition.
Thanks to @londonartcritic Tabish Khan for including my solo show Exudater in the FAD Magazine @worldoffad top 5 exhibitions to see in London during #friezeweek . Honoured to have my exhibition listed in the company of such good shows.
My show Exudater is still on until the 25th of October at @seagergallery . Photo is of my work Creeper // PLA, Oil Paint, Acrylic Sheet, Silicone, Liquin // 80 x 60 x 8cm // 2020
