Hey, I released an EP!
Songwriting is a funny thing, and looking back at songs I’ve written can be illuminating: sometimes, there are things in there that I wasn’t even aware of when I was writing the song, and usually, my perspective on whatever I was writing about in that moment has changed. This can be both therapeutic and cringe-inducing haha.
The first takes for these tracks were recorded in 2018 and some of them are the result of musical ideas I had over 10 years ago. I’ve been sitting on them for so long because I wasn’t exactly sure what to do with them: they’re all different genres and up until recently, I wasn’t sure how they were all connected. Like me, they’ve changed a lot over the past few years, but I’m confident in saying they’re some of my best work yet as a songwriter, musician, producer, and engineer.
With that said, it’s time to resurrect the #Honko project one last time to finally release some ideas that just wouldn’t die. You can check out the Smile EP on all streaming platforms 🙂
