The snow settles as Avalanche returns from Adepticon and the Golden Demon. In the end, it received a finalist pin. I can't lie and say that isn't greatly disappointing.
I have to pick myself back up in the coming days but wanted to share this sooner than later. I love what I've made and it is my greatest work and effort to this day. I wanted to create a battle scene fitting of the artwork that inspires the models. With that I am happy and admire what I've made. There are times when a contest can make you feel negatively about your work, that is not an effect I'm feeling.
There is a lesson in this, but it won't reveal itself today. Time will tell.

Finished! Mulgoth (the cleaver) and the (plague) Templars. There's a decent band name in there. I approached these models with a lot of tricks in mind, stippling, airbrush filters, special effects, speedpaint markers, layers of secreted filth..It felt good to experiment and ask myself questions. Evey piece is an experiment and I find my happiness in this lies in asking myself questions about how I can achieve a desired outcome and then carrying out those ideas.
