I’ve dreamed of doing a TEDx talk for as long as I can remember. And yesterday in Tokyo, it happened.
This has been a process of months of applying, then writing, rewriting, and practicing, and finally coming to Tokyo to find the courage to say something true in public.
My talk combines different threads of my life, including my work on AI and my exploration of what it means to be human in the age of AI.
Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way, those who read drafts, gave feedback, and supported me on the day. And to those who were there in person, it meant a lot.
The full talk will be out in about a month, and I look forward to sharing it with you 🙏

I recently hit 100k subscribers on YouTube. 🎬 It’s been a wild ride over the past two years—many late nights, constant learning, and plenty of challenges!
YouTube sent me this plaque, which was nice of them, but it’s never been about the numbers. It’s about creating work that educates, inspires, and entertains.
I haven’t really shared this journey much here before. But knowing that people are learning with what I create motivates me to keep going.
Over the next few months, I’ll be traveling—Seattle, Vancouver, Tokyo, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pai, and Bali—so if you’re around, drop me a message.

Magic Words
In the very earliest time,
when both people and animals lived on earth,
a person could become an animal if he wanted to
and an animal could become a human being.
Sometimes they were people
and sometimes animals
and there was no difference.
All spoke the same language.
That was the time when words were like magic.
The human mind had mysterious powers.
A word spoken by chance
might have strange consequences.
It would suddenly come alive
and what people wanted to happen could happen —
all you had to do was say it.
Nobody could explain this:
That’s the way it was.

Wild Geese
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
