SXSW aka simulation x surreal world! It gets me so amped up. Equal parts dissonance and harmony. Tons of heart and grit channeled into one place for an expansive blip. Playing through exhaustion to be seen and heard and to reflect the experience back into the world as love. Admiration for bands that travel and then play multiple shows daily for a week or more. Expressing gratitude through content is not as special as a big warm hug but here it is anyway. Much love to all who came to see Walkabouts or a solo set. I am emotionally viscerally cracked open until further notice. <3

Ran the Sky Island 25k trail race. What a vibe!

The Milky Way fades. Headlamps slowly snake down the pitch black mountainside like extraterrestrials descending to earth. They say when your gratitude is greater than your expectation, it is a good day. Waves of shuffling feet wash the shores of a brisk southwestern dawn. Don’t ignore the confidence. Ascend. Time dissolves into the present through each breath. I am exactly where my feet are. Descend. Drink the salty water. Looking out at the vastly beauty of the high desert mountain range puts my mind at ease during the most challenging moments. Ascend. Yuccas firmly brush my skin astride a scenic overlook. It really is an island in the sky. Drink more. Descend. Everyone encouraging everyone. Drink. Move upwards. Mild muscle cramping. Send it if you can, chill if you want. The aid station is a magical oasis. I hear echoes of primal cheer launching off the flatland. More. Cramping intensifies as we reach the road to Prude Ranch where cattle and love welcome our exhaustion. The race completes yet the work is unfinished. The heartbeat fades yet does not diminish. Eat.
