Waar haalde ik inspiratie mijn eerste boek?
Allereerst nogmaals enorm bedankt voor alle steun! Ik had nooit durven hopen dat er zo veel interesse zou zijn, bedankt om mij te helpen om deze droom waar te maken!
In de eerste plaats vond ik inspiratie bij de schrijver Franz Kafka. In zijn verhalen is het hoofdpersonage vaak eindeloos op zoek naar antwoorden in absurde situaties. Hoewel ik zijn zware schrijfstijl zelf apprecieer, liet ik deze toch achterwege in mijn eigen werk en gebruikte ik enkel de verhaalstijl als referentie.
Later vond ik inspiratie in een ietwat onverwachte hoek, namelijk de animatiereeks ‘Family Guy’. Hoewel ik niet per se een grote fan ben van deze reeks, hoorde ik een interview dat zij zich soms bewust limiteren tot bepaalde personages of bepaalde settings, en van daaruit een verhaal uitwerken. Jezelf limiteren als schrijver kan juist inspiratie stimuleren. Vanuit deze insteek beperkte ik mij in dit verhaal tot slechts één gebouw.
Deze twee inspiratiebronnen gebruikte ik als een geraamte waaraan ik verschillende situaties en gebeurtenissen ophing - boordevol verwijzingen naar de filosofie. Het is juist de bedoeling dat je geen achtergrond in de filosofie nodig hebt om het boek te kunnen lezen, maar als je deze toevallig wel hebt, kun je allerlei ‘easter eggs’ ontdekken.
WEETJE: Het bestand heette tot op het laatste moment nog ‘Zinsbouw Oefening’. Onder aanmoediging van mijn partner @lynnrutten en zus Anne stuurde ik het naar uitgeverij @beefcakepublishing . Zij reageerden tot mijn eigen verbazing enthousiast, en zo ging de bal aan het rollen. Ook bedankt aan hen om mij deze kans te bieden!

Due to some changes in the timetable, I played 1,5 instead of 1 hour. This gave me some more space to experiment and to try out what the crowd likes. I started out with some 150 BPM industrial hardcore, building up to some 175 BPM darkstep/crossbreed and ending at 200 BPM breakcore.
Track ID: @limewaxofficial - Agent Orange (@theoutsideagency Remix). This one is in a lot of my harder sets and it never misses! The recognisable melody combined with those filthy kicks is such a crowdpleaser, almost feels like cheating.

I revisited an older track of mine called 'Anti-Science'. This track was part of the 'Amor Fatility EP' I released independently a long time ago, which - to my surprise - got support from Robyn Chaos back in the day.
I've always liked this track, especially because of the parts with the distorted violin combined with deathmetal grunts. Sometimes I feel like I was more creative back then because I didn't care for a 'professional' sound (not saying my music sounds professional now, but I still aspire it).
So I thought the track could use an update with all of the techniques I've learned throughout the years. I also fixed the boring intro and breakdown as much as I could using only the wav-file because the original project is corrupted.
