'One to One: John & Yoko' will be shown exclusively at IMAX this Wednesday 9th & Thursday 10th April, before being released in cinemas worldwide this Friday 11th. Please go and see it!!! ★★★★ ""Fun, fierce and full-blooded"" The Guardian ★★★★★ ""Remarkable"" NME “A stone-cold brilliant fusion of kinetic and contemplative” The Hollywood Reporter ""The rare rock doc that’s a must-see."" Variety ★★★★ ""Captivating"" Indiewire ★★★★ “John and Yoko sizzle in Macdonald’s stellar music doc” Timeout ★★★★★ “A masterclass in editing and montage” Dirty Movies Directed by Kevin Macdonald and co-directed and edited by Sam Rice-Edwards, the film follows John and Yoko through a tumultuous 1972 New York as they attempt to change the world from their two room apartment in Greenwich Village. It is a chance to get to know John and Yoko in a completely fresh way and features the only concert Lennon gave after leaving the Beatles. This energising film also offers a strange parallel and unique perspective on the political turmoils of today. Meet Me in the Bathroom is officially out in UK cinemas! I spent over a year cutting this film with @andrewjosephcross and it’s great to finally see it on the big screen in the UK! Directed by @_32_thirtytwo (@wollice and @dylan_southern_ ) MMITB is an immersive, archival journey through the explosive music scene of the early 2000’s in NYC. It explores the cultural, technological and political transformations, as seen through the prism of several era-defining bands like The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, Interpol, and LCD Soundsystem. “This nostalgic music doc is an electrifying time capsule for indie kids of a certain age” - TimeOut ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Times ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Little White Lies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Time Out #MEETMEINTHEBATHROOM

I joined forces with my brother @sebward to direct this film for the BBC, made entirely from clips found in the BBC archive. We were backed up by two great editors in @andrewjosephcross and @_jackwilliams , who nailed the cut, plus the Academy films, Assembly Rooms and BBC creative teams. Not forgetting an excellent group of researchers! The BBC is something that belongs to all of us #ThisIsOurBBC Director: @samriceedwards Co-Director: @sebward Production Company: @academyfilms Exec Producer: @medbriordan Producer: @shirleyoc Editors: @andrewjosephcross @_jackwilliams Edit Assistant: Bruna Manfredi Edit Producer: @danbrehh Assistant Director: @rubyseresin Creative Director: @mileskilometers + Chris Vernon Creative: @tsim21 Producer: Rachel Roberts Post: @timebasedarts Sound Design: Mark Hills Flame Lead: Jamie Crofts Colourist: @lewis.crossfield Music: Jonny Greenwood and @zebedeecbudworth #TARverymuch #bbc #academyfilms #theassemblyrooms

I’m very proud that ‘Meet Me in The Bathroom’ premieres tonight at Sundance. Edited by myself alongside the uber talented @andrewjosephcross and expertly directed by our old friends Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern (@_32_thirtytwo ), it’s a feature documentary that follows a group of young musicians chasing their dreams in New York at the turn of the millennium. This film has been a huge collective effort including @raqitsracket , @christiancargill and the whole Pulse and Assembly Rooms teams. Not forgetting an amazing score from @zebedeecbudworth . (From Rolling Stone) Portrait of a Scene on Fire: The seminal oral history of the New York music scene circa the early 2000s gets the documentary treatment, with filmmakers Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern (Shut Up and Play the Hits) rewinding back to the moment when cheap Brooklyn rents, post-9/11 trauma, tons of dive bars and a flurry of freak-flag flying gave birth to a slew of great bands. You get both an overall look at how the city turned hipsters with guitars and laptops into rock stars along with commentary from the Strokes’ Albert Hammond, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs Karen O and LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy. Play this movie loud, and then spill beer on the floor, fall over, get back up and play it even louder.

At the end of last year I had the pleasure of editing “Life in a Day 2020” for Kevin Macdonald, alongside two talented editors @mdhamiri and @nse.asuquo . LIAD 2020 is cut from 13,000 hours of footage, filmed by people around the world on 25th July, taking a pulse of humanity on that day. If you fancy watching a unique film, be sure to watch the uncensored/director’s cut! (link in bio)
