wowie… so much has changed since 2019… at the time the pandemic felt like such a devastating blow to our momentum but looking back I think it gave us some much needed time to reassess what was important to us as a band and as people..
so much of this record was written during my first year as a father when I was experiencing tons of strong and complicated emotions including an extremely difficult bout of depression. I can listen back now and see that these songs served as a much needed emotional release for me. And major props btw to my amazing partner @caitthedoula who (along with some SSRIs 😅) got me through that first year

Can’t believe it’s been 5 years since Guppy came out… This record will always have a very special place in my heart because it was really the moment the 4 of us together figured out our identity as a band (at the time 😇) but also because it was the first time I ever felt comfortable/confident enough to share music I had written.
Very thankful for my amazing band mates who were willing to listen to/work on those demoes that somehow mostly sounded like Irish limericks (see Westermarck verse) and to anyone who loves this album as much as we do 💙
Man this one hurts. Taylor Hawkins has always been one of my biggest drumming influences. His personality behind a kit will just never be matched.. Can’t believe it
Very stoked to share the Christmas single we wrote with our best buds @puptheband . This is the first song I’ve ever produced/mixed and it was a major learning experience + something I’ll always be super proud of. Go listen in the bio if you f*cking miss someone this holiday season 😭🎄
