MY 2023 IN A NUTSHELL!
After a rigorous review of over 5000 applications, myself and 44 other fellows were selected for the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI).
On December 21st, I was officially conferred the esteemed title of Fellow of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative, marking a pivotal moment in my journey.
This achievement followed three weeks of intensive and comprehensive training. Throughout this period, I delved deeply into various aspects of legislative work, gaining a broader understanding of governance, parliamentary oversight, bill drafting, and legislative reform.
It was a truly life-changing experience and a significant accomplishment in my personal and professional growth.
I now bear the title of ‘Hon. Samira Usman Adam, FLMI.’

We are all sinners in our own ways. What makes the difference is not proudly celebrating the sin.
At some point, many of us sincerely pray to Allah to help us overcome the things we struggle with.
Not every sinner is happy with their actions. Some feel regret instantly, while others realize their mistakes much later. That does not change the fact that we are all human.
Let us continue to pray for guidance in our daily lives and strive to be better.
Do not become a proud sinner, because none of us knows when we will take our last breath.

Dear Men,
With every ounce of respect for your gender, I want you to know that we appreciate you just as much as you appreciate us.
We enjoy your presence, your company, and genuine friendships too.
But please, this habit of sexualizing every form of relationship between men and women needs to stop.
It is draining, exhausting, emotionally stressful, and sometimes even traumatic.
Two people can genuinely be friends without the end goal being intimacy.
We can laugh together, hang out, support each other, and simply exist as human beings without constantly trying to redefine the relationship into something sexual or romantic.
Self-control is not something we should joke about.

Alex Ekubo went silent since 2024, and according to reports, some of his friends were aware of his condition.
Some visited him, some had firsthand information, yet they chose to respect his privacy instead of turning it into content or public discussion.
To me, that is one of the highest forms of respect and friendship anyone can offer another human being.
Not this unhealthy competition of who will be the first to break confidential news for clout or engagement.
Behind every celebrity or influencer is still a human being with emotions, fears, struggles, and dignity.
What you would not want done to you is exactly what you should avoid doing to others.
May we have, and be friends who protect each other in private, respect boundaries, and remain genuine, sincere, and kind beyond appearances 🤍
How do you think many professionals take personal positioning?
In whatever profession you choose, or even find yourself in, one thing remains important: learn to position yourself intentionally.
It may sound simple, but the truth is, positioning takes time. It requires discipline, patience, perseverance, consistency, and the determination to keep growing even when progress feels slow.
Many people today take up jobs outside their field of study or original career path, not necessarily because it is their dream, but because they need something that sustains them while they work toward something bigger.
And there is nothing wrong with that reality. At some point in life, so many of us had to.
But even in those moments, it is important to give your best. Not only for the company you work for or for the title attached to the role, but for yourself and the reputation you are quietly building.
People are always observing. Sometimes, opportunities come from individuals you never knew were paying attention to your work ethic, your professionalism, or the way you carry yourself.
That is why every role matters. Hold onto it like a melting ice cream, it stains your body, but you are enjoying it.
Because, the way you position yourself today can become the reason someone recommends you tomorrow.
And while earning money is important, never underestimate the value of positioning yourself for the future you truly want.
