Last weekend was magical - again! ✨ For the second time, we hosted a communal table, this time in collaboration with @samma____samma , an artistic and cultural space created by @jo.mulla and @samantha___shay______ . SAMMA is dedicated to fostering community, and we believe it’s one of the most beautiful places in Wuppertal.
Our mission is to connect people who share a love for simple foods, natural wines, and great coffee. At the heart of the communal table is the idea of building a local community. 🍷☕️
It was a true pleasure meeting so many new faces, and we’re thrilled that the concept resonates with so many. Here’s to many more communal tables to come! 🥂
A special thanks to @torbendampf for the kitchen support and @jounca for the stunning floral arrangements—they added such beauty to the evening. 💐

Workshop coming up in SAMMA
Selfish Learning & Collective Spirit: an dance improvisation workshop with @tessvoelker
Sunday, Sept 1st 11-14h
In this three hour workshop, Tess steers away from focusing on strict physical language or experience, but rather aim to tap into a source more equivalent to one’s “inner child” through the ethereal and confronting vehicle of music. It is about exploring, witnessing, ergo understanding one’s own improvisation (or simply put, creativity) and knowing that creativity emerges through a practice of open-mindedness and non-judgement, whether that be on others, the situation at hand, and most importantly, one’s self.

Samma is a new vibrant artistic and cultural space dedicated to multidisciplinary work, and a shared home for an array of events that build community, created by Jonas Müller and Samantha Shay in Wuppertal, Germany.
Housed within a building dating back to the 1900s, the space originated as a pub, and over the years, it underwent several transformations, including serving as a print shop in the 1960s before sitting empty for several years. The recent rennovation of SAMMA spanned 8 months and the space has been transformed.
The word SAMMA is derived from the German phrase “Sag Mal” (tell me), encapsulates the essence of contradiction inherent in the local Bergisches Platt dialect of Wuppertal. In this unique linguistic tradition, words are often combined and shortened at the beginning of sentences, allowing for quicker communication.
