“Of Sibyls and Source” is an ongoing artist residency series and curatorial project guided by research, inquiry and connection through myth making and embodied presence in/with/of the land conceived of by artist Heather Lyon. Artists gathered at the International Center for the Arts, Italy, in June 2024 to work with geo-mythic sites in the Sibylline National Park and surrounding areas, and then again virtually March - May 2025 for two artist residencies. Artists included Kristin Mariani, Samantha Jones, Susan Bickford and misael soto (as collaborative documentarian in Italy) Our exhibition includes videos, textiles, installations, and live performances that investigate ideas surrounding landscape, oracle, myth, mapping and community. We seek to tell stories and create experiences that open up possibilities for alternative ways of being with each other and place.
