Graduation 2025 - Bachelor of Arts with Honours Film Production First Class Honours . So many intense and powerful emotions have come with this day, but wholeheartedly it couldn’t have been more special. Sharing it alongside the people I love, the people I respect, and those whom I spent the last three years working alongside to celebrate a once-thought unachievable goal was easily something I won’t ever be able to forget. . Here is to the future, and to what life brings going forward. The good, the bad, and staying true to exactly what and who we are. . - 05/06/25 - To be able to share the ARU Graduate Showcase alongside my peers, my friends, my family, and so many other talented artists was such a privilege. My time at ARU hasn’t been easy, nor has it been simple. But as the time I spent here comes to a close, I can confidently say that I am so proud of everything I was able to achieve, academically and artistically. But more importantly, I find that I’m proud of myself. . To see Embers and Brother Bereaved sharing a space amongst so much genuine talent, from Film to Animation and beyond, I sit back in disbelief that my work gets to be seen in the same light as so much heart, past and present. . For those who joined me, within the school or just supporting me from wherever in the world; thank you. It means the so much to be surrounded by people who respect me, let alone love me. And I’m so excited to see where I am taken next. . But for ARU, that’ll be all <3

Hey, I’m Sam and I’ll be leading the Sound Department on Embers. Over my years studying Film Production at Anglia Ruskin University, I found a particular passion for Sound, allowing me to explore various avenues of Sound Production within the filmmaking process.
I have had the opportunity to speak to industry professionals, working on a variety of short films (Cherish, Intro/Vert, Ephemeral), as well as working alongside organisations such as the Imperial War Museum and HMS Belfast. These have allowed me to discover how to record and edit sound effectively to deliver the best sound possible.
I intend to work with my fellow crew to deliver a soundscape that captures the feelings of Embers, that allows the audience to delve within Andy’s subconscious and become lost within his psyche, to explore the mind of a Firefighter who struggles with PTSD. I believe sound can be used to deliver an incredibly immersive experience within this film, and I’m incredibly excited to bring that to this project and bring this story to life.
