The Great Work is out now! Link in Bio!
Thank you to all the friends, collaborators, and listeners who have helped SameStory to grow over the 5 years it took to get to this album. There is hope where there is hopelessness, comfort in the things that bolster us, and light in that which darkens us.

SameStory is proud to be a part of @subvertworld as it launches today. An artist owned cooperative is a great opportunity for musicians to both join together and own their work in a way that other platforms never have given before.
As an added incentive to check out Subvert I’ve released a new EP today that is comprised of songs not available on streaming services exclusive to Subvert. Thank you to anyone who has supported SameStory anywhere that you listen!

Ten years ago today, i took a walk in the park. I decided that the music i had started working on would be officially called SameStory.
Ten years later i still feel like i’ve just started to figure out what i’m doing, but i still don’t know what i’m doing most of the time. I’m very thankful for everything and everyone who has given their ear to me in the last decade. Today is also the year Anniversary of The Great Work, so all of this feels quite full circle for me today.
Thanks for listening, the path is wide open and i’m looking forward to what’s next.
Onward, Upward, Transmute, Transcend.
SameStory’s Cover/Interpretation of @uniform_nyc ‘s “The Killing of America” is available today via the amazing tribute/deconstruction album America Lies Bleeding which is linked in bio.
Uniform are undoubtedly one of the greatest influences that caused me to push SameStory into my first live performances back in 2018. Watching Ben Greenberg and Michael Berdan perform taught me everything i needed to know about harnessing chaos into catharsis.
Thank you very much to @industrialcoast for the opportunity and for putting together this amazing collection of artists appreciating the work of one of the best to ever do it!

Every cent earned will go directly to paying the workers to make this strike possible, at the time of the show it will officially have been a MONTH of baristas across Richmond + across the country shutting down our stores while on strike—an absolutely monumental accomplishment in the modern workers rights movement!! 🪧

Reposted To Update The Lineup
If you live in D.C. and you like industrial/doom, please go see Richmond artists @paingenerator , @samest0ry , and @wertlosband at @haydees2000 TONIGHT!!!
Local acts @bassmasters.dc and @yard_dog_dc are also on the lineup.
I’m proud of this lineup artistically, and I plan to book more shows for Pain Generator in the future!
Congregation, the stars have lined up once again, giving way to allow us to perform with our good friends @paingenerator and @wertlosband once again for two shows in 2025 before we retreat into the Winter cocoon. Making our DC debut at Haydee’s on October 3rd and one last RVA show to ring in the Autumn harvest on the 4th. I’m greatly anticipating seeing your presence there; it will be a special one.
SameStory - 'The Great Work' (Full album, 2025) | Noise rock
If you happen to read the tags that we add to our reviews, you might have seen the ones for today's review: noise rock, industrial metal, goth, synthpunk.
You can expect something a bit unusual and outside the black metal comfort zone. Now, let me introduce you to "The Great Work", the debut album of @samest0ry , an antifascist blackened industrial/noise rock band from Virginia. Leave the growls and screams away, leave the overly distorted guitars away, you're in for a very old school industrial, gothic, noisy rock. With inspirations coming directly from the 80s and early 90s, it will please the goths among all of you readers.
SameStory does not leave politics behind, however, and you'll be presented with multiple samples, recordings of conservative politicians mainly spewing their venom. It really gets groovy as the album goes on, with tracks such as "Sackcloth/Ashes" that can be danced on in your dream gothic club. We're not used to such music on this channel, but this is definitely a good discovery for me, and I encourage you to give it a listen and explore the unexplored parts of your music library and antifascist art.
