This Women’s History Month, we’re proud to highlight women making history: The beneficiaries of the Same Sky Microgrant Program at NJRC.
With support from the Same Sky Microgrant Program, women like Darlayne and Debra received critical resources at pivotal moments, from housing and basic necessities to help navigating legal and financial barriers.
For Darlayne, that support meant stability and the ability to move forward. For Debra, it meant avoiding setbacks and continuing on her path.
Their journeys are a powerful reminder that when women are given access to opportunity and support, they can rebuild, grow, and redefine what’s possible.
This Women’s History Month, we’re proud to celebrate the women at the heart of Same Sky, our artisans. 💙
Each piece they create is more than jewelry, it’s a reflection of skill, resilience, and opportunity.
When women are given access to meaningful work and support, they don’t just earn a sustainable income, they build independence, strengthen their communities, and change the trajectory of their lives.
This Women’s History Month, we’re honoring the legacy of Felicia Taylor and her belief in the power of storytelling to inspire the next generation.
Felicia believed that sharing the stories of women who were first in their fields helps others see what’s possible. That belief helped bring the PBS docuseries “She Was First” to life, celebrating pioneering women whose creativity and determination reshaped culture. This series premieres on PBS on March 20th, 2026, check your local listings.

This Women’s History Month, we are proud to highlight one of our women making history: Asiimwe Esther, a Same Sky Scholar in Rwanda who is bringing affordable healthcare to her community.
Now in her fourth year studying medicine at UGHE, Esther once had to leave school because she could not afford the fees. With support from Francine and the Same Sky Foundation, her dream of becoming a doctor is becoming a reality. She is grateful for this opportunity and hopes to one day bring affordable healthcare to her community.
Congratulations to The FAWE Girls’ School in Rwanda on your 25 years of educating girls.
The Same Sky Foundation has proudly helped 500 FAWE girls study STEM. Our scholarships remove everyday barriers that keep girls from learning by providing school fees, books, uniforms, and the support needed to stay enrolled.
Graduates of the FAWE program go on to careers in banking, medicine, education, engineering, and astronomy. changing the future of their communities and their country.
