في غرفة طفولته اللي باين عليها آثار الزمن، بيتأمل رجل في منتصف العمر ماضيه ومراهقته واللي كلها بتدور حوالين شعره؛ شعره يطول وشعر يقع - تتكشف لنا رحلة عمر كاملة الشعر فيها يبقى استعارة للحياة نفسها: للنضج والفقد، للأيام وهي بتجري من بين إيدينا.
العرض العالمي الأول لفيلم "س الديب" كان في مهرجان SXSW في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وتتابعت رحل الفيلم لمختلف المهرجانات المرموقة زي مهرجان بالي الدولي للأفلام واللي فاز فيه الفيلم بجائزة أحسن فيلم تحريك قصير وجائزة (متحرك) للأفلام القصيرة من مهرجان Animatex.
سامح علاء اخرج ايضا فيلم "ستاشر" وحصد السعفة الذهبية في مهرجان كان السينمائي كأول فيلم مصري في التاريخ يفوز بالجايزة دي.

"S The Wolf" had its world premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in the United States, followed by a journey through several prestigious festivals, including the Bali International Film Festival, where it won Best Animated Short. It also received the "Motaharek" award for short films from Animatex.

Envy, insecurity, and poverty are the main themes driving characters to commit crimes in ‘Hekayet Narges’. For 15 episodes, we watch a woman kidnap babies and root for her all the way. The series begins with Narges, brilliantly portrayed by Riham Abdelghafour, in a bathroom bathing a little boy. A slow, warm close-up reveals her hand massaging him with soap. Quickly, we realise we are in both her dream and her nightmare. We discover that she divorced because she cannot get pregnant. That warm, hypnotic bath scene lingers as a mirage, as we watch her plot and pull her new husband, Awny (portrayed by Hamza El Eily), into a journey of kidnapping to achieve the status of a mother.
In this interview, Cannes-winning director Sameh Alaa discusses why he chose to dramatize this true story, the contrast between film festival audiences and mainstream Egyptian drama and discovering the thrill of telling a story over 15 days during Ramadan.
