I struggle with this biz, because I’ve recently learned that it’s “cool” to pretend what we do isn’t a big deal and to downplay things like they don’t matter much but guys…idk. What we do is cool. We have dreamt of these things, no matter how big or small. we are really, truly so lucky and blessed to do what we do. To work, fail, win, lose, try….of it.
I feel grateful as hell to be a “loser” today and to have this lil frame in my house now.
If I never win my Grammy and this happens to be as far as I get, I think 8 year old Sam would be very proud to learn that she grew up to be this kind of a loser, tbh.

“Evergreen” was always meant to be a song about the strength of women. it went on to tell the tale of motherhood, how a mother’s love is evergreen. My muse was my mom and the magic that she is, the love that she gives. The strength that she doesn’t know she’s got sometimes. It’s the kind of strength and love that I’ve learned only a woman, only a mother, can truly understand. It’s amazing. It’s unwavering and, dare I say…. it’s evergreen. Maybe I’ll know it someday if I’m lucky enough. Love u mom. And someday I pray I’ll get to take you to your red carpet and we will do it big @peneloperose1201 :).

Learning i don’t have enough interesting photos for a photo dump/proof of life. Loving how little I care. Loving that, somehow in staying still, I’ve done so much more living than ever before.
Learning that I’ve never been so present, happy, scared, or out of my body in my life.
Learning that my best songs haven’t happened yet - that they will be written during this new life and new chapter. loving the idea of that.
Learning to accept my loose skin and stretch marks that haven’t faded. That my body isn’t quite my own yet. That it may never be as it was- and loving that this is ok for what it gave me.
Learning that some days I will wake up feeling like the luckiest, most blessed, powerful bitch on the planet. Learning that some days I will wonder where the time went and why it was so hard to love myself or be present for alllll these years before this chapter.
Learning that this version of me is very well my best yet.
Loving that I will no longer know a world without him.
