Excited to share the new showreel! Longest I’ve gone without updating a reel. Still have 4 unreleased features with a bunch of steadicam and gimbal shots I’m very happy about. Fun shot from tail end of 2024. Not seen behind this window is a water tower about 2’ away from the window and many parallel I-beams spanning across the room. This was an attic/ top floor/watertower of a building with a residential walk up, followed by an attic walk up, and then a narrow spiral staircase walk up to get to the water tower room. Having a dolly with an offset wasn’t an option and having a simple speed rail rig arming straight out also wasn’t an option. Limited by the length of our speedrail and the angle in which we could push our rig out the window, this was all we could fit. Getting camera further into position by nose mounting r2 on a right angle plate helped the shot get to where it needed to be. Rialto with Cooke anamorphics were its own challenge as motors had a difficult time fitting inside the tilt cage. Custom lens support solution (not pictured) took a bit of figuring out too. At the end of the day, this was a lock off shot that needed to be able to move in and out of the window, and allow for safe panning and tilting without having a person leaning out of a window.
