Criminalised for love. Fighting back with pride. ✊🏳️‍🌈 Official poster reveal for OUT LAWS, designed by the brilliant Sam Ashby. @samashbystudio This film is a journey through the colonial roots of queer criminalisation and a celebration of the activists dismantling that legacy today. From the UK to Namibia and beyond, we’re unearthing history to secure a freer future. ✨ World Premiere: See us at BFI Flare (@britishfilminstitute ) this March! 📍 Southbank, London. Join Friedel Dausab, Rosanna Flamer-Caldera, and Raven Gill as they confront the laws meant to silence them. It’s time to rewrite the narrative. Help us liberate this film for the countries that need it most. Link in bio to support our mission. #OutLawsFilm #BFIFlare #QueerHistory #LGBTRights #Decriminalisation Documentary NarrativeChange

Excited to share my design for @janolegerster ’s ISLANDS, released in UK cinemas today by @britishfilminstitute . The film is fantastic — a mystery that never goes where you expect it to, beautifully performed by Sam Riley, Stacy Martin and Jack Farthing. A real pleasure to create artwork for something this atmospheric.

New work for an old favourite! @alteredinnocence invited me to design a new poster for the 45th anniversary restoration of Taxi Zum Klo (1980), nearly 15 years after I designed the re-release poster for @peccadillopics . An honour to return to Frank Ripploh’s irrepressible queer classic. 2025 ➡️ 2011

It’s been such a treat to create artwork for the restoration of JUICE and DADDY DEAREST (1984), the final adult films by pioneering gay filmmaker Arthur J. Bressan, Jr. These fearless works are now back in the world thanks to @alteredinnocence . Huge gratitude to @bressanproject for preserving Artie’s radical legacy.

I've adored Picnic at Hanging Rock (Peter Weir, 1975) since my mum first made me watch it as a teenager, so it was an incredible honour to design the poster for the @britishfilminstitute 's upcoming restoration. Thank you Pihla, Phil and Darren at BFI for trusting me, and to @nate_t for the gorgeous retouch.

I started 2024 with the intention of sharing more work… and promptly did the opposite. So, as 2025 (somehow already late February) gets going, I’m finally catching up. Here are a few posters I had the honor of designing for some incredible films last year.

Cillian Murphy's Golden Globes win reminded me of the first film poster I ever designed, for 'Breakfast on Pluto', way back in 2005. Cillian stars as a trans woman (awkward casting by today’s standards) searching for her long-lost mother in London in the 1970s. I was a runner at Empire Design and they kindly gave me some studio experience. I have no idea if this concept was ever shown to the client!

To celebrate the release of Andrew Haigh's incredible new film 'All of Us Strangers', I wanted to reshare my posters for 'Weekend' (2011), his second feature which became an instant classic upon release. The opportunity to work on a film that reflected my own experience as a queer man was an important one, and I think it's these posters that put me on the map as a film poster designer. The photographs were taken by Quinnford + Scout, whose beautiful work is still up for the world to see on Flickr (remember that?). With eternal thanks to Andrew for trusting me.
