As we read through the end of year record lists, 2025 will always be the year that HAYWARDxDÄLEK was released on @relapserecords Holding the gatefold record in our hands was a proud moment. A record written and recorded here in Salford is now on a label that has released so many of the artists we love. From start to finish working with @daleknwk & Charles Hayward on this record has been an absolute joy. Two absolute masters of their craft. Now let's get this baby on the road and play some shows in 2026 yeah?!!

In the spotlight: TS DÆMON 👁️ TS DÆMON (@shrekx666 ) is one of Scotland’s most innovative queer artists. Their work spans live art, SFX, music production, drag, visual arts, intimacy industries, and community organising. Through a series of @samarbeta residencies, they've explored a range of immersive audio and visual technologies; all through the lens of the ever-shifting spectacle of trans* politics and experiences. The project — No Silence, No Saints — can be experienced as work-in-progress this Saturday at @newadelphitheatre as part of FaT OuT. It's part erotic thriller, part gothic-tech-musical; blending radical live art, music, multi-path game design and immersive technology to explore the tangled intimacies and ethics of desire, masculinity, power and politics. Very exciting day here in Samarbeta/From the Other HQ.... HAYWARDxDÄLEK is being released on @relapserecords Back in 2023 we had the pleasure of bringing together two forces of nature....Charles Hayward & MC Dälek for the 20th Samarbeta residency. Written over two feverish days in a studio at @islingtonmill they then recorded at @salforduni before the duo spent just one day shaping a live version, which they debuted at @fatout._ Fest. Since then @daleknwk took the live recording back to his Deadverse Studio headquarters in Union City, New Jersey and now we have this incredible record that we are so happy we can finally shout about. The album artwork is by fine artist @rachel_goodyear who has been part of the Islington Mill community for decades. It was really important for everyone that the artwork came out of the Mill, where this record was written and hosted the only live performance thus far; a space that is so vital to our residency programme and gives so much to the creative nourishment of the artists we work with. Massively grateful to the incredible team at Relapse Record for all the work they have done bringing this release together and ensuring that it is HEARD. Over the past six months we have been working with TS DÆMON (@shrekx666 ) as they deep dive into the world of immersive creativity through their multifaceted project No Silence, No Saints. With funding from the Experiment strand of the @immersivearts_uk they have been exploring 360-degree video, virtual reality, augmented reality, motion projections, live AV Set, songwriting, storytelling and so much more. They have been on residencies Sheffield, Glasgow, Ynys Môn, Bradford & Salford experimenting with different technologies and getting mentorship from experts in the field. Conceptually this work is embedded in the complexities of living in the UK as a marginalised person today, using playfulness and technology to evoke empathy and understanding. On 8th November they will be showing a work in progress of their new Theatre show at the Adelphi Theatre @salforduni Part erotic thriller, part gothic-tech-musical, this show showcases theatre as transformation Pay what you can afford tickets for the show are now on sale. Really excited to announce the next Samarbeta artist is residence…. TS DÆMON (FKA @shrekx666 ) Through residencies in Sheffield, Glasgow, Salford @islingtonmill & Ynys Môn @ffermdwyran , TS DÆMON will work with trans* and QIPOC artists spanning music, dance and immersive technology to create sensory-reactive visual creation. Through technology, sound, the body, and trans* (be)comings, they interrogate trans* embodiment, desire, and patriarchal systems of representation while developing a sustainable and intersectional collaboration practice. Funded by the @immersivearts_uk ‘Experiment’ fund, these residencies will give TS DÆMON time to explore live music production, laser mapping, projection, sound and motion-reactive technologies, all through the lens of the ever-shifting spectacle of trans* politics and experiences. Nothing better to beat the freezing January blues than @r4ggs joyous music on the cosy 5th floor of @islingtonmill Watching gigs from a sofa is the one! Impossible to stay seated for too long though with a R.AGGS beat! Starting the year with a residency should happen every year.

Great to be reunited with the mega human @r4ggs This week Ray will be at University of Salford recording the songs they wrote during their Samarbeta residency last year. Ray will be working with Braxton and Dallah, two @uos_students to record and mix their new record. Join us on Wednesday (8 Jan) @islingtonmill for a good old potluck and performance from Ray.

Hyperseas show is a response to the Hybrid Futures exhibition, drawing inspiration from Shezad Dawood’s Leviathan: From the Forest to the Sea, exploring themes of fluidity, interconnectivity, and collective experience. Joining Hypersea is @iamfyamusic @a___________________________z & ex.sses I Am Fya brings an electrifying energy to the stage, delivering a daring fusion of dancehall, techno, acid, trap, and more. Alpha / A- - -Z crafts ambient soundscapes that culminate in powerful sonic moments, combining computer, soundcard, and mic to build a rich, immersive audio experience. ex.sses will present ‘Strange Echoes,’ a multi-form live work that integrates spoken word, cello, and electronic music.

NEW | The @thequietus premieres the new @lowfourstudio film about multI-instrumentalist and songwriter @r4ggs and their @samarbeta residency.
