Water etching a mug using shellac! I had heard about shellac being used as a resist in ceramics instead of wax or latex and was intrigued! I thought I would use it to âwater etchingâ this mug as a first test. With water etching you use a wet sponge to wear away the areas of clay not protected with a resist.
