A bit hard to find the words, very long time coming- but amazed to say my name’s been added as a feature credit on most of the Blood Orange songs I sang and worked on in 2013, across Cupid Deluxe. I’ve only ever wanted to feel warmth & pride towards this time and these songs- for me this is a major step toward healing. I listened to the record for the first time in over 10 years last night… I think it’ll be easier for me to talk about now- but yeah, that’s me :)

I had the honor of interviewing one of LA’s superhero firefighters last week, for @iheartcomix amaaazing fundraiser livestream - @eduardoherrerajr22 ❣️ I’d never heard of @antirecidivismcoalition aka ARC before then. This is a program that works to end mass incarceration in a number of ways- and also trains incarcerated people to become firefighters.
Very cool & inspiring.

Happy big 40th to Bobby ❣️ Anyone new here who doesn’t know- this is my big brother who died when he was 19, & was a really incredible person who I wish the world got to keep longer.

A special hug from me for anyone who’s lost their only sibling. It’s just such a deep feeling of being left without your teammate, mirror, your past, & your future.
But a relationship with death & profound loss can kind of open a unique portal of extra-sensitivity, wisdom, & bravery, which I think can be a very beautiful & evolved thing.
