More of our top setters behind the blocs.
Over the next few days we’re introducing the routesetters building the blocs for the 2026 NSW State Youth Boulder Titles at @sydneyindoorclimbinggym
We’re excited to have such a strong team bringing creativity and experience to the wall this year.
Next up is Samuel Healy (he/him) @sam.sft.hly from 9 Degrees Chatswood.
Sam has been routesetting for over 10 years and says what he loves most about setting is “the creativity and the freedom of it.”
He also loves the challenge of figuring out how to make tricky moves work and seeing climbers enjoy the problems the team creates.
One of Sam’s proudest climbing moments was sending The Vatican at Flock Hill, overcoming the fear factor with support from friends. Learn a little more about Sam and his setting style here:
Favourite routesetting trend
The move the kids call a “fakie”
Favourite gym or crag

Weirdest hold

1 try send or long battle?
Long battle — always more satisfying
Fun fact: B&E’s very goated.
Think you can solve one of Sam’s problems?
