From the studio this past week!
this started as just playing and having fun mixing medias (i used acrylic paint for the first time in ages) and seeing where it takes me. Maybe it’ll end up a fun collage of bright colors and energy or maybe it might end up a kind of self portrait? Whatever it ends up being I am having so much fun just playing with colors and words and different textures and layers

This piece is going to go through so many phases.
the goal is going to be to try to keep things bright, colorful, and energetic as it evolves and layers continue to be added

Learning to Swim

This is a very fun and exciting piece for me, it’s not only the largest single canvas I’ve painted it’s also the first piece i’ve done with such a prominent figure! It was a big challenge but also very fun to take on.
This summer my youngest brother was learning how to swim. how to have enough trust and confidence in himself to be comfortable in the water and trust that he can do it and, even if his head ducks under water once or twice, he will be okay.
As I was working on this piece, I realized I was also learning how to swim. how to swim into adult life and how to have the trust and confidence in myself that even if I dont know what’s going to happen, I know how to float and I can swim through it
