SERPENTINE
It’s interesting: Some people have told me if I were an animal I’d be a snake (which probably was an insult at the time if I really ruminate about who was saying it and why) and I’ve even been casted as one in a theatre production when I was a teenager. I feel such a strong connection with these animals and have since I was young. Throughout this year I’ve grown so much more in tune with and fascinated in my Ilokano culture and came to find that snakes are actually spiritual, protective guides and a representation of ancestral connection to our people. So, it seems my innate connectivity to this creature has felt rooted in my being my entire life and I’ve come to realize why.
Because of that I’ve wanted to do a snake look for such a long time and always wanted to model with one, but the vision never seemed to be aligned. I’m so grateful to @baroque_yasman for letting me shoot with Blu Cut to make that idea a reality and Ian for taking such beautiful photos, thank you both so much. x
