1. It can lower stress hormones surprisingly fast Studies on “earthing” and time in natural environments show reductions in cortisol (your main stress hormone). People often report feeling calmer, less mentally “buzzed,” and more emotionally regulated after walking barefoot on grass, sand, or dirt. 2. It may reduce inflammation in the body Some researchers believe direct contact with the earth allows tiny electrical exchanges that help neutralize free radicals. While research is still developing, some studies have found grounding may help with inflammation, muscle soreness, and recovery after physical stress. 3. Your nervous system can shift out of fight-or-flight Nature exposure plus grounding can activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the “rest and digest” state. This can slow heart rate, relax tense muscles, and create that heavy peaceful feeling people get after sitting by the ocean or in the forest. 4. It may improve sleep quality People who practice grounding regularly sometimes report falling asleep easier and waking less during the night. Some small studies suggest grounding may help regulate circadian rhythms and nighttime cortisol patterns, which can affect sleep. 5. It can increase feelings of connection and mental clarity There’s something psychologically powerful about physically reconnecting with nature. Many people notice less overthinking, less doom-scrolling energy, and more creativity or perspective after grounding outdoors — especially near water, trees, or mountains. Even 15–20 minutes can noticeably shift mood and focus. Easy ways to try it: * Walk barefoot on grass, sand, or dirt * Sit against a tree * Put your hands in soil while gardening * Spend time at the beach with bare feet * Lay on a blanket in a park and unplug from your phone for a bit

Motherhood made me a badass. 🤍 Three pregnancies with preeclampsia, two times being cut open for C-sections, one natural birth, and somehow finding strength through every scary, painful, beautiful moment. Becoming a mother changed me in ways I can’t even explain. My body has been through so much, but it gave me my greatest blessings. I’ll forever be grateful for the magic of being their mom. Happy Mother’s Day to me. And the other mothers out there ✨
